This man just sacrificed his entire Canadian audience for that ending and I love it! 😆

So the yellow part was Mexico, but at that time it was still "New Spain." A few years later Mexico gained independence, then the Mexican American war started over Texas trying to defect to the U.S. It was considered the U.S.'s big imperialist war above any other. Even the diplomat who went to Mexico to set terms of surrender hated the war and purposely undermined the U.S. negotiations. The U.S. wanted Baja California, the Yucatan and all of Northern Mexico, leaving only Mexica proper and totally stealing the Mexican Empire. Luckily that didn't happen.

I don't see the US invading any time soon, but Canada is free to request admission into the United States, as is any independent nation, territory of the United States, or other political unit, under the rules laid out in Article 4, Section 3 of the Constitution.

That's interesting that you wouldn't view the US as very religious. I would say we are a very religious country.... waaaaay too religious.

Really? I guess the Internet is altering my view of things. I would say it was religious 30+ years ago, but not anymore.

@@GoddyExploresWorld The USA is very religious compared to Europe and the 1st world especially, remember white american origins were fanatic religious Europeans. There is more variety though.. Different parts of the country are more religious than others, the urban cities in places like California, New york are not very religious. But if you go to the South-east and Midwest, or anywhere in the US outside big cities, they are VERY religious! The internet is an awful representation of the average American and their variety, remember there are 330 Million people in the country, and online you often get a specific demographic of Americans who are usually not very religious

@@GoddyExploresWorld I’d say it’s more religious than European countries, but not as religious as people think. I’ve encountered a good number of atheists in the areas strongly associated with religiousness.

At that time the UK had a higher population than the US btw America was very weak back then and very new country, they were no match for the British so they couldn't invade Canada without losing to the UK
@GoddyExploresWorld2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow...I thought the population of the US at that time was high since it was close to the civil war period

@@GoddyExploresWorld Around the US-Canada war at 1812 The US population was around 7 mil, and UK at 11 or so. The US overtook the UK in population i believe around the Civil war by a bit around 1850-60. Population aside the US was militarily primitive in equipment, tech etc compared to the UK, they didn't become the military superpower until close to WW2. It's also harder to conquer land than to defend, they had no chance against the UK at the time so they couldn't invade Canada

Benjamin Franklin was a body builder, who later in life probably put on a bit of extra weight on top.
