When you're a child of the 70s, you never forget ATARI. Never! ATARI was life itself for many of us.

No one in my circle ever referred to it as the "Atari two thousand six hundred." It was always the "Atari twenty six hundred." This makes me wonder what others called it.

He also called the ColecoVision as "Coal-Co" not "Ka-lee-co". Both of these together make this sound like an AI written script being read by an AI voice.

Yeah, I picked up on ColecoVision, too,@@TheBlunk86. I agree it's got to be AI.

i've never heard it called two thousand six hundred either... always twenty-six hundred.

Atari's downfall? Are you kidding!? They've just announced they're re-releasing 10 games from the early 80s that, uh, no one under 45 remembers with, er, modern ... early-2000s ... uh, flash-era graphics? And releasing these new arcade cabinets into arcades that have been dead for decades? Genius! They can't lose! Atari's back baby!

They're talking about the 90s ATARI

@@BruceStephanIt's a joke. Atari does not exist anymore. It's just a trademark to whoever pays to use it.

It's ironic how so many still finger ET. The real problem with ET is that Atari paid 28 million for ET's licence, but only provided a short time frame to properly create, manufacture and box the game for Xmas. The limited time frame for such an expensive licence was sloppy and arrogant by Atari executives.

The “2 thousand six hundred”. The “5 thousand 2 hundred”. The “7 thousand 8 hundred”. And my favorite… The “Cole KaVision”.

The narrator is either computer generated or Clueless. All I had to do is talk to somebody who lived through the era.

@@someguy2135 Definitely AI generated. No human would pronounce those consoles that way.

“Two thousand six hundred” made me smile! Great video overall.
@someguy213527 күн бұрын
At abot the 12 minute mark, the video mentions the Atari ST. It said it couldn't compete with Apple or IBM computers, but their main competitior was always Commodore! The Commodore Amiga was the competition for the ST, and the Commodore 64 was always more popular than their 8 bit computers like the Atari 400 and 800. The Commodore 64 sold more units than any other brand or model at one point!

With my friend, we rented the Atari Jaguar when newly released. The console stopped to work after one hour of gaming. The guy at the video club store was angry after us 😂

The weight of the console was so light. My first impression was that it's kinda made cheap.

The sad thing is that though Atari was the company that pioneer videogames, it wasn't the company that evolve it. After the success of the Atari 2600, the company had made nothing but bad decisions.
@TheShospitali7 ай бұрын
Atari just couldn't keep up with the times. While others had more third party support Atari had no support. The 2600 lacked quality control. Games being made that was sorry! Atari is just a shell of its former self.
