The Baro Bhuiyan,Shasanko and the independent Bengal sultanate were the the only independent entities in Bangladesh's 2500 year long history 😔

Kingdoms and regions like vanga, pundra, samatata, rar, srihatta, harikela, etc were vastly independent for huge amount of time except for few big empires like Mauryan, shunga empires. Then shashanka conquered and established independent Gauda kingdom. 1st unification of Bengal. Then it broke again, later Pala empire originated in Bengal and carried on independent Bengal for more than 400 years. Golden age of Bengal in terms of culture. Then Sen dynasty took over along with Dev dynasty in the eastern srihatta and samatata region. Bengal was still independent. Then sen dynasty fell under Delhi sultanate. But independence movement came and independent Bengal sultanate was established which was the golden age of Bengal in terms of economic development until the mughals. Mughals conquered Bengal sultanate but Bengal subah remained largely autonomous and economy was even better. Them mughal rule succumbed and Bengal pretty much left that autonomy and acted independently right before the British took over. Then in 1947 India Pakistan were born. Half of Bengal is in India and other in Pakistan. The Pakistani part fought and became independent while the other half remains inside India.
