Would taste close the same as today I assume. It's still flavored with coca, they just use coca leaves from pharmaceutical companies who have already extracted the active chemicals so they're not actively peddling 'coke' lol. The texture would probably be more thick like cough syrup because that was one of its uses.

French wine coca was actually a French invention by French chemist Angelo Mariani. In France it was known as "Vin Mariani" and was quite popular in Europe. There were rumours saying famous authors like Alexandre Dumas, Jules Vernes and Arthur Conan Doyle may have drank Mariani's wine.

Yeah back when I was a kid in middle school my dad took me to a small town and we went into a pharmacy or drug store and my dad ordered a coke up and the guy working there put a spoon full of coke syrup into a glass and then he used a soda bottle full of seltzer water and he sprayed the soda water into the glass and mixed it up with the Syrup , This was before coke messed up their formula and added. Corn-syrup to its mix, Talk about total yuck, Fortunately I found the Mexican Cokes, Or Coke- a -cola’s are still made the old fashioned way and sold in small glass bottles, Definitely an excellent drink on a hot day especially when drank out of a cold glass bottle, Mexican cokes are the best, Enjoy
