If Cynder gets introduced in a later game, I'd love for her to come across as a a bit of a Rogue- she shows up throughout Spyro's adventure, playfully teasing and insulting him, but also giving some assistance. It would be apparent to Spyro that she is doing it for her own reasons/gain so he's not sure what side she's on, but is intrigued by her nonetheless. Obviously she would eventually become a fully-fledged ally.

I'd kinda like to see a more distant and detatched cinder though, Like her entire life she's been under some form of control from (in the games said to be) the most powerful evil dragon in the world. And then she's just gonna come out all normal and happy to be free? No. I want charcter depth to her story (and maybe the story of malefor since he's basically the puppeteer villan) I want to see cinder struggle, both with her past and her image. And question whether or not she can truly be forgiven for the things she's done even if it's not her fault. If we are truly trying to remake old games like these to a new image, why can't we re-wire the story so that charcter's become more relatable? Their choices understandable in every step they take? Even if we ourselves can't imagine taking them? Sorry, sorry i just really loved these games as a kid.

The color change with Cynder in DOTD was by the decision of the game's director, he chose the Cynder design that had the violet/purple color for reasons unknown to us. Yet the characters in DOTD still call Cynder "the black dragon".

It was probably done to reflect that Cynder had become a bit more “like Spyro,” but in her own way. It’s poetic; sort of metaphorical: a change in personality coming out physically. Or that, like said in the video above, she is Spyro’s counterpart: the darker side of the coin. In-world, it could be because they spent 3 years locked in a magical amber-like crystal together, making Spyro’s scales a bit darker(?) and Cynder’s a bit more purple. Others don’t see it, because they only know her as Cynder, the terror of the skies; the black dragon, and so they continue to see her as such. Until they get to know her. But obviously, we know throughout. The Skylanders games definitely have a certain... unappealing look to them. The Skylanders academy, though, aren’t bad - thankfully. As for my opinions? I’d love to see “a” Cynder in a Spyro game, but I don’t think she would be in an “original” Spyro game. That would be too much and anger too many people. Maybe a new continuity? I wouldn’t mind seeing one where they reboot the LoS series to be... well, to be frank, better. The wall level... eugh. No thank you. Now, I loved the LoS series for the time but I also acknowledge it has a bunch of flaws. Quick time events were no good, and the difficulty spiked way too much from my experience. Maybe a nice open world would be better instead of a level-by-level sort of deal? Perhaps in the same vein (vane? vain?) as BotW but with truly free flying and a lot less equipment necessity and probably fewer collectibles? A better LoS in short. Reboot it, make the story better, the acting better, all that. More coherent and engaging story.

@Accelerated Byrd There is a lot of cut content in the LOS series because of the limited budget and yearly releases given to the development teams (scrapped cutscenes, scrapped story details, scrapped quests, scrapped dialogue, etc.) You can have an HD game and still it may not sell well from a business standpoint regardless of the amount of copies sold.

I love most of the incarnations of Cynder. I find her stoic, badass and occasionally quite snarky (in a good way). However I have a problem with her Skylanders Academy incarnation. Before you think, “Oh you hate her design” or “Is this about her personality change?”, I want to clarify that I enjoy this version to an extent. I felt that she was severely underutilized in season 3 and it did not do her character justice. I would have loved to see her character develop throughout the season. One idea I constantly think about is the reversal of roles involving the student/ teacher role. Here’s the setup: (1)Spyro is sent to serve Malefor by Strykore as a gift to thank him for the freedom from the book. (2)Cynder is tasked to redeem herself to Malefor by grooming Spyro to be a personal servant/butler. (3)The initial shock she has seeing Spyro corrupted sets a personal goal for her to fix him. Maybe Spyro could be taught by Cynder to harness his dark powers? Spyro could be reminded of who he was by training side by side or having small interactions between him and Cynder? This is what I think would be a plausible way to build Cynder up more as a potential Skylander mentor or main team member for the series. I’m sorry for the long ramble but I want to say that I loved the video. I tend to get quite passionate about the things I enjoy. To be fair, none of the characters, not even Cynder, were utilized well in Season 3, since it didn't give them enough screentime and the story was spent most on Dark Spyro. They could've gotten Cynder back early on in Season 3 but the writers chose to focus on Dark Spyro and his mission as a spy. And thanks for watching my video, it means a lot. :)

Cynder being in the original trilogy timeline would bring up interesting ideas. Maybe we should get a game where Cynder's existence causes Spyro to start having flashes of other adventures, and thus, Cynder, alongside other Skylanders dragons, must work together to reach the Time Dragon to re-stabilize original Spyro and make a timeline where Spyro meeting Cynder won't disrupt anything.

So, if Cynder appeared in The Legend of Spyro trilogy, Skylanders series and Skylanders Academy TV show of Spyro's three generations, will Cynder be in Spyro: Reignited Trilogy as a new playable character by rescuing the female dragons in the brand new levels as the DLC when it'll be ported by Nintendo Switch and PC soon? I think they would introduce her in a new game. I also thought about the idea that spyro and her are working together to save the other female dragons. It makes sense since none of the dragons in the reignited series were female so it could explain that aspect of the lore somehow. I personally imagine the 2 characters having a rivalrous relationship in these games as they try to constantly one up one another.

That would be interesting to see. I had a cool concept for her spinoff game. The antagonist has unlocked her true nature and Cynder (who is now corrupted) begins to attack her own home. A level idea would be inside her own mind where benevolent part of her personality tries to escape a fight for control in a dark and very surreal landscape. She succees and is able to expel the darkness without her in one huge burst of shadow fire as is back to on her normal self. How the evil part of her (who is the from the dark shadow fire expelled from her) doesn't give up so easily and manifests itself into a physical from particularly her corrupted dragon form from A New Beginning which serves as a boss battle Cynder and literally,her own dark side. What do you think?

Ngl, I kinda hope Cynder is reintroduced in a possible sequel to the Reignited Trilogy. I think she has some potential. Also, I think it would be really cool to see Malefor reintroduced in the classic series someday, though his appearance and personality would likely be changed to fit the cartoony and lighthearted style of the Reignited Trilogy. I think he would be a bit more like Gnasty Gnorc in a way, but more serious while still having a comedic vibe to him (like in Skylanders Academy).

I feel like Cynder could make a great supporting character like Elora or any other of spyros friends, like sgt Bryd. Plus, it would kind of be cute if Cynder and elora had a bit of a rivalry when it came to spyro’s affections, and would give eachother the evil eye during a cutscene or two. I’d like for her design to be legend series inspired with slight purple and hot pink tints, since I think that would look a lot better in game. You would probably have to rescue her in one world, maybe someone holding her in captivity and trying to use her for a circus? Or if you want to reference the legend series more, saving her from a evil force trying to use her. Final idea? Have her go through an entire redemption arc like Bianca. After that, she would become a friend to Spyro and offer support and advice as he continues the game. Lastly, I feel like, while they should be able to reimagine Cynder a fair amount to fit the games, a dark past and most of her personality should stick around. OOH! Also have Hunter be super wary of her like sparks used to be in tlos games!! That would be gold!! 😂

I really hope to see Cynder in Reignited or in another game. She became a favorite in the fandom and she still is. Even Nicholas Cole made an art of her, that shows how much love has Cynder, and how important she is. I honestly love all Cynder's reincarnations by how unique they are (While I love the Legend one the most) Since The Legend of Spyro she caught the attention of the players and hooked to her. Add her new backstory, abilities and development could be amazing for her in this Reignited world. I think on her own standalone adventure in a DLC, or maybe as a deuteragonist in the new Spyro game. Nicolas Kole's interpretation among some other fans' designs is so beautiful! I like to imagine Cynder to be a new apprentice of the Sorceror from The Shadow Legacy, who is a black dragon who, by the influence of the Sorceror's magic and corruption, has a purplish hue. Or maybe a dragon who was sealed away by him and was released as a last resort in his act of revenge in the future.

As bad as it sounds, I grew up with the first two legend games instead of the original series (though I can sympathize with fans that dislike the legend games), and from everything I've seen, I'm convinced Cynder was the only thing people actually liked about the reboot trilogy, and might be the only reason fans would even play the Legend games in the first place. I really can't figure out why it is people are so fascinated with her, but I've narrowed it down to it being either that she's another dragon Spyro's age who is on par with his abilities, she's the only female dragon (who isn't ember) in the series, or her and Spyro truly are the OTP among the fanbase

They could always give Cynder her own story pack mod, maybe behind the Artisans Door is a giant portal where all the female dragons got locked away in by Gnasty Gnorc as you enter through the portal the first dragon you free is Cynder who was trapped in crystal unlocking her character Baa nd then you switch over and play as Cynder to free the female dragons. The sequel game could be more of a prequel on Cynder's part. As mentioned Ripto did come from another world filled with dragons before he ended up in Avalar, maybe Cynder is the dragon that chased him into the portal in trying to get rid of him. Then the third game maybe she meets Bianaca and helps collect maybe the rest of the bdragon eggs that were left behind and helps restore the magic that was lost in the forgotten worlds and in the event she would be introduced to some of the other characters such as maybe Sheila, Agent 9 and so forth.

They literally brought the entire Legend Trilogy and put it in Skylanders, with even some nods to the games. Why would they do that? I've caught over 20 callbacks and references to the trilogy. Alongside the sequel bait of the third game (and 6:42), why/what are they teasing. Realistically I am unsure whether anything will happen, but I have some hope still in me. Activision's gonna squeeze Spyro of everything he is capable of before letting him go, he HAS to have some "Cynder" or "Legend Trilogy" still in his IP.

She should have her own spinoff game but with a different story. She comes from a powerful race of shadow dragons (or beasts) that ravaged the land many years ago but is now banished to a magical void-like prison. Her egg however remained behind and is soon taken by a loving dragon family that helped her to use her dark powers for good to protect their village and possibly the world. Once again there would be a combat and combo system only here they become much stronger the more you use them. The levels would be a little similar to Crash of the Titans. Her signature shadow fire breath would return that you can also charge up to unleash a powerful shadow fireball. She could conduct dark lightning from her horn to serve as lifting certain things or electricuting your enemies. Her sharp tail would be toxic that can slowly damage her enemies or can leech them while during a combo. And finally when she has enough stored up energy,she can temporarily go into a powered up state when she is much stronger and faster. Her appearance (it would look a little cartoonish) here would be the design and a little of her personality from Dawn of the Dragon,the color scheme from A New Beginning and last but not least,she would be voiced by Amity Blight herself. What do you think?

I remember playing Legend Of Spyro 3 (Dawn Of The Dragon) on my PS2 with my friend back in 2017 and 2018. I always had to play with Cynder because my friend loves being player 1.

I surely hope so, i really like cynder's design, but i don't want her to be a love interest like she was in the end of dawn of the dragon, i didnt feel a romantic development in their friendship in the entire game than just being there for each other, tolerance and cooperation between themselves for the sake of the world, i want her to have a growing platonic relationship with spyro, since they're opposite, they could see something of each other in them and can relate on few little special things and moments. I feel that her personality would work if we mix her first game appearance and dawn of the dragon, showing that she's actually trying to be good but failing because of her corrupted nature, i still want her dark past to be implemented if we get her on a future spyro game, but either way, having her in a game like just a playable or swappable character or co-op gameplay would be nice. Plus, black cynder for the win, i just feel that purple is not really her color, but a more darkish-purple color would be nice as well

I was hoping that Cynder was going to replace Yin and Yang's in the Sorceress's staff in the Reignited Trilogy. Scary looking Dragon trapped in a tyrant's staff is really similar to her other origin stories, but at the same time I'm glad they kept everything true to the original games. Honestly, I'd prefer to see Cynder get her own spin-off series with the occasional nod to Spyro's existence.

They can't ditch her. Not because I don't want them to, but because they simply can't. She's become such a big part of the Spyro franchise. In my opinion, she's more famous than the titular character of the franchise she is a part of (for better or worse). It's like getting rid of Arbiter in the Halo games, or getting rid of the Normandy in a Mass Effect game. You have to have both. Another example is having Luigi in any Mario game. You just can't go with only one of the Bros, no matter what.

Yes. I know, right? Even in Wrath Of Cortex, Crunch Bandicoot was also suffering the same fate of corruption as Cynder. If I am not wrong Cynder's wind element was her natural element and she was supose to be white but due to corruption she gets the black scales. And the anothers elements was rare in the present of the game but in the past it was very common, but that is deep lore lol

Except her egg was black when you watch the flashback cutscene in Legend Of Spyro: A New Beginning. However when you play Cynder in Dawn Of The Dragon she does look like she has purple highlights in some areas on her body. Maybe there is just something the dragons overlooked about Cynder maybe there is something special about her that the dragons overlooked. For example why was Cynder the one chosen to free Malefor and be his servant, why is she appear to be the only black dragon, and of course she was able to also learn other elemental powers just like Spyro was able to.

CynderSpirit Dragon You forget that Ignitus said only a dragon born on the Year of the Dragon can open the portal to Malefor’s prison in Convexity. Cynder just happened to be picked among the other eggs while the Dark Armies were smashing the others. Any dragon egg that was in the Temple could’ve been picked to be corrupted to be Malefor’s servant.

Different Cynder, different history, different relationships. Not every Cynder will fall in love with a Spyro nor have to be edgy 24/7. Skylanders Academy Cynder is a different take on Cynder and her backstory, and is not set as a love interest, which she hasn’t been in nearly a decade (2011-2020) since she was in the Skylanders franchise.

I actually have a theory about why Spyro, Cynder, and Malefor are in skylanders. So at the end of Dawn of the Dragon Malefor was sealed in the core and Spyro reversed the damage done but only to the point where most of the planet was covered in floating islands. The reason he could be in Skylanders is because the purple dragons have the ability to reincarnate essentially making them immortal. The reason Cynder is there as well is most likely because of the magic chain Malefor put on them which Ignitus said was a bond which i believe is litteral.

That's a common fan theory, but Skylanders and The Legend of Spyro are two different universes with different versions of Spyro, Cynder and Malefor with no relation to their alt universe counterparts. :)

It's never stated in the original trilogy whether female dragons existed in that timeline. It's alluded to given that the dragon eggs must've come from somewhere but we only ever see the male dragons. So, I have to wonder. Will a future game starring Cynder also introduce female variants from within the different Homeworlds? For example, Peace Keepers, Magic Crafters and Beast Makers, or would new unforeseen Homeworlds be introduced. Perhaps, the game could be split into two separate campaigns. Where you first play as Spyro, then as Cynder.

I think it would be really cool if they made a future game where Spyro, Cynder, Ember, and Flame were all the main protagonists (of course the plot would be revolving around Spyro since the franchise is named after him) where all four of them are playable (and since all four dragons are playable this game can be multiplayer so up to four players can play locally) where it’s kinda similar to another game I play called “The Lego Ninjago Movie video game” where the ninjas have different abilities and mechanics (for example in the lego Ninjago movie video game, Zane can freeze waterfalls with his Ice Spinjitzu and Kai can burn down golden lego bricks with his fire spinjitzu) so maybe the four dragons can have different abilities and mechanics that is exclusive to their abilities. But that’s my wish at least. 😅

How about her own game except her origin would be told in a different way? For instance like she comes from a race of powerful shadow dragons (or beasts) that ravaged the land long ago who are now banished into a prison-like void. However her egg stayed behind and was taken by a loving dragon family who helps her use her dark powers for good and protect their village and possibly the world. What do you think?
