Upon further investigation, I believe that the kiddie ride featured at 4:52 was not called Looper. Looper is the name of a different type of flat ride, and I don't think this was the name of that specific ride. The kids' bumper boats may have been called "Lil' Sneak". The Showtime Theater is known to have existed in 1994. In a video of Waldameer from 1961, there appears to have been a small car ride at the park. It also seems to show a kiddie ride much the same as the ones still there today, but its cars are fire trucks. My wording of the Bumper Boats removal makes it sound like Ravine Flyer 3 opened in 1999. It did not. It opened in 2000. Spider will be defunct after the end of the 2024 season. Paratrooper will also temporarily be gone.

Looper I believe was either a eyerly or a chance flat model, I could be wrong but there’s one at knoebels.

Excellent first video!! Loved hearing your input on the defunct attraction and some of them such as the Snake Pit I didn't know myself. Good use of pictures and clean audio as well. Would love to see more!!

This is pretty cool. I grew up in the late 70's and 80's at Waldameer Park.

Great video i really appreciate you taking the time. It is fantastic for someone to be so passionate about a local amusement park that has been around so long. It was very impressive showing and describing of the older attractions, rides and park offerings. It is not easy to find the information and especially photos. I found a picture of the figure 8 last year on an unused post card and was surprised i was able to.

Thank you so much for this comprehensive video! Waldameer is my home-park, and I’ve always been super interested in the history of the park, but the in-depth information is very scattered- so I truly appreciate this video a lot! I believe my late step-grandfather worked the “Looper” when he was in high school. He told me Paul Nelson (the later owner) would ride on it a lot (he was a few years younger)- He also told me about the monkeys escaping their little habitat area all the time, hahaha

Idk if it was justba small group of us, but we called the bump the kangaroo. I loved it, but its so bad for your spine.
@purple_shad0wz3 ай бұрын
Sounds about right, considering a ride of the same model operates at nearby Kennywood under the name Kangaroo! It's such a great ride.
