I have been wanting to learn this movement for a long time but there is no video on KZbin. By the way, I use a PS3 controller when I play fighting games.

If memory serves, Heihachi's EWGF was only possible from a standstill position, worth mentioning.

@@MaverickHunterVile TTT Heihachi cant EWGF out of a forward dash or wave dash, he can EWGF out of a SS, though. So a common tactic was wavedash into a quick SS, then EWGF. Additional info, Heihachi cant tag buffer his EWGF. If you tag buffer, it turns into a normal WGF.

Heihachi's TTT EWGF was slightly harder to notice because the additional spark only appeared on hit (or block), instead of appearing before the hit, like it did for Jin. If you whiffed, you wouldn't know if it was an EWGF or not.

The only issue I have with EWHF for Jin is that he goes "deh" in Tekken 8. 4-7 was the peak. Him going *DAH!* was in it's own way a reward... or fear for the opponent.

Fun story: So I was mashing online and I accidentally did my first ever EWGF with Heihachi against a Steve player. I was literally so shook by the sound and Heihachi's call out of "OH YEA" that I didn't notice Steve's incoming low and I died for it. Worth it.

Didn't know that Heihachi's EWGF was harder in previous games. Ironically, I feel more consistent on Heihachi EWGFs than Devil Jin or Kazuya.

It has to do with his crouch dash stance, which he and Paul shared up until T6. That's why doing moves like qcf 2 is absurdly hard because you can't buffer it like as it is right now (any stance moves cannot be buffered). I thank God that stance is gone from Heihachi now in Tag 2 and T7.

It wasn’t „harder“ ewgf was and is a just frame for the last input f,n,d,df:2 The movement was stiffer so it was harder to wavedash.. but the input for ewgf hasn’t been changed.. Lol I had this discussion on tekken zaibatsu almost 20 years ago and we tested all the ewgf inputs with a p stick because that was such a heated debate 🤣🤣

Mine is the other way around. Kaz's EWGF is the more consistent due to the option of a PEWGF (a quick EWGF from Mist Step; f, d/f:2).

Heihachi in Tekken Tag 1 had an electric wind god fist. His electric was the best one since it was a special mid. Jin's one was only a special mid if he pressed the tag button after.

In Tekken 2, the WGF puts everything else to shame, and I think that being able to do it immediately from the mist step is what puts Kazuya above Heihachi (who is a monster in T2) when it comes to tiers. T1 is not so simple to decide, as it has the infamous block stun attacks that guarantee follow-up damage.

Should have pointed out the silly effect that an EWGF would give on counter hit in Tekken 3. Only move I can think of that's worse on counter than normal hit.

Jin's EWHF would do that in Tekken 4 and 5 but at least there you accepted you didn't get anything off it in the first place. With that EWGF effect you wondered why you even bothered since a normal launch would have been much more useful.

you get 1 less frame for input for example you can do kazuya, devil jin and jin ewgf d,df input in 3 frames but for heihachi you get 2 frames which is exactly as the number of inputs so even down input was a just frame. for other mishimas you could delay df input by holding down input for more than 1 frame

In tekken 8, is there any point in using the mid electric? I suppose it gives chip damage on block. Are the hell sweep and omen interruptable or something? If they're both a frame trap then I don't see the point in the ewgf

it's a mixup, hellsweep and omen both can be beaten by a hopkick but ewgf connects in this case and ewgf can blocked but you have to guess between the mixup in this case.

Kind of sad that it took until Tekken 8 which, as of this comment's time, is still an UNRELEASED game... for EWGF to actually have some nice special effects worthy of the move. Even T7's EWGF was 'meh' in the special FX department. Why it took THIS LONG to make it look good I have no idea... They could definitely have made it look good as far back as Tekken 5, easily... I mean look at all the flashy effects Jinpachi had, don't tell me they can't add an aura trail or something to the move... Yet, took THIS LONG, Tekken 8... for it to finally look good. So sad.
