2004 back then sure set a new level. 2000 and 2004 are probably my favorites. Not today, probably, but they were the ones I enjoyed the most back when they were the newest versions. Nowadays they hardly make improvement.

I have FIFA 97, 98, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 all on PC. FIFA 97 you could play indoor games if any of you can remember, was the best ever!

Play first time in fifa 06 on PC when i learning in college , good game and amazing soundtrack. 07 playing too, last fifa - 08, worst graphic and the same thing that the previous. Tired from game for 2 years. More love NHL on pc from 2003-09 and 14-15 on ps3 ....

Brandes Gamer Fifa 15 is more polished, if you look outside the field in pes15 everything is static and low res, fan's cheering all look very generic. Also the lighting seem more natural in fifa15.

That first Fifa featured was a great little game. I don't know if it was that year or the one after, but I had Fifa on the megadrive, around '93/'94, and it was better than kick off or sensible soccer. The isometric(?) view was tricky, certainly if you were shooting down the screen from right to left, but it really worked once you adjusted. It has a certain charm, a simplicity, which the new Fifa, with its endless tactics, anal stats and focus on visuals over enjoyment, seems to lack. Maybe it's rose tinted spectacles, I've grown up, but it just seemed more fun, more colourful, more realistic, actually. In the strive for perfection, like in the real world, it has led to a sterile, rather joyless experience. Football, in the English premier league, has become corporate and family oriented. Its nothing like the loud, tribal terraces of the '80s. You have to go to Brazil, North Africa, Turkey, for that kind of noisy, vibrant, fanatical football terrace experience now. Shame, only England games does that resurface. Not club level.
