This is very informative. The Osu-Haatso situation is common among the Ga coastal towns and their sub off-shore towns. Santoe, katamanso, Borteyman, etc are all subtowns of Nungua. Teshie, Labadi, Tema have theirs

I agree with the Manste, Ga lands are rented for 90yrs, so inform your children, grand, and great children to reclaim their lands after expiring years. There are many, many lands sold to Akans in Cantoment, Bortianor, Dansoman, Legion, etc.

Thank you for this video! I have been asking this question. I sincerely believe that there were Ga people living at Osu before the Osudoku people arrived and settled in the Osu area. Specifically, Mantse Nii Okaikoi signed the Trust Deeds for the Christiansborg Castle land - first with the Kingdom of Sweden and, subsequently , with the Kingdom of Sweden and Norway. Mantse Nii Okaikoi's Granddaughter Aafio Dedei lived at Christiansborg (Osu) and raised her three children there. Her Son Christian Jacob Protten was born in 1715 and his siblings lived at Christiansborg until he was taken to Denmark in 1726 for his education. When he returned to Christiansborg in 1735, his Mother Aafio Dedei and other family members has relocated to Aneho, Togo, to join relatives from Ayawaso who settled there. The narration of the Haatso Mantse supports my position that Gamei were present at Osu before the Osudoku people arrived.

The name is originally in Ga is ashi tete ( now ashanti ) Most Ga names are corrupted. The names are not pronounce correctly.

What I gather from this conversation is that you are Ghas, who originated from Osu people. however, your ancestors moved permanently to make residence in Haatso. So, what do you call yourselves? Osu or Haatso people or what? Because Haatso is not a tribe. Like I am from Teshie due to my father, but I was born and bred in Adabraka. However, that doesn't make me Adabrakania.

How can ashanti name is doing in the land of Ga land
@johnnydarren84442 жыл бұрын
Hahaha interesting, lady don't be confused of the name. Ashantis were partners with the Ga/adanbges, in 811 the Fantes wage a war to kick the Ga/adanbges from the coastal areas and the Ashantis came from Kumasi to defend the Ga/adanbges and they defeated the Fantes. Yet no body tell you guys the story.

@@johnnydarren8444 someone also said that they were allies before or during the slaves trade ...( meaning some were allies in partnership with slaves masters , when the trade was stopped they didn't return to their villages) the reason why we find akan names in GA s ... someone correct me if am wrong
@johnnydarren84442 жыл бұрын
@@yvonnetaylor the Ashantis were not allied with the British, they were only allies with the Ga/adanbges especially when the Fantes wage a war against the Ga/adanbges to kick them out of the coastal areas in 1811. The Ashantis came to defend the Ga/adanbges against the Fantes.
