Happy Hanukkah David, Lived near Bathurst and Lawrence in Toronto!!! Love All the food. Favorite is still Chala.. Foods are very close to Ukrainian. Our candles have 3. Very open community. Always, found it interesting to speak to the Rabbi at the Synagogue!!!!!❤

My Catholic bible has the books of Maccabee. Are these recognized by the Jewish people as authentic representations of the revolt?

Thank you for watching, and great question. Jewish tradition would not regard the books of Maccabees as scriptural, but they are seen as important historical accounts of the Maccabean Revolt. Their narratives align with Jewish history but are not seen as "authentic" in a religious sense within Judaism. Hope that makes sense.
