I fucking loved this portrayal of Heimdall. I just admired his cocky/arrogant demeanor and I loved how he was just talking down and mocking Atreus. The only problem is that we didn’t get to see much of him but his character makes you love him and hate him at the same time because of his narcissism and complete disregard for anyone but himself.

Heimdall was my favorite character in the whole game. He immediately grabbed my attention as soon as he appear on my television. Yes, the man is absolute prick, but he’s pretty damn entertaining. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of his character in some capacity.

True but non of Odin's sons are never called his son's in the game.. Odin never refers to Thor as son or baldur. The only difference is that we KNOW baldur and Thor are his son's from the previous game talked about them a lot and never mentioned Heimdall

Even when I first saw him dangling Atreus/Loki from the top of Asgard's high wall, I had a variation of the "I am an asshole." song from TheRunawayGuys running through my head about Heimdall. All seeing, all hearing, and now this version has future sight which makes him, for all intents and purposes, all knowing. Good Oden (Note the spelling.), I need some Japanese winter stew (i.e. oden) to digest just how incendiary, belittling, and uncaring Balder's fellow "mad dog" of Odin is. Charlotte Katakuri, a character I encountered in Oda's One Piece with warrior training similar to this version of Heimdall (although much taller), is much more honorable and doesn't intentionally go looking for fights unless his family is threatened, closer to the mythological version. Future sight comes in handy when dodging attacks and avoiding conflict, but like with any power, abuse it and mock Kratos about not having it and they will kill you. I would say Atreus, since Heimdall and Loki are destined to die by each other's hands at Ragnarok, but Kratos went on a whole quest to prevent this part of Ragnarok. And I have to say, the payoff was satisfying. Obviously, this Heimdall didn't read up on what happened to Hermes during the Twilight of the Greek Gods. Ha ha ha!

For me it was bittersweet killing Heimdall. Whilst it was satisfying finally beating the hell out of him. At the same time it wasn't because Kratos was trying his best to get away from his past self. Heimdall not only is the most hated character in the game but acts nothing like his mythological counterpart he more so has a characteristics of the traditional loki in here but he lacks the shape-shifting abilities and deceptive nature that the trickster god had in him so atreus being loki in this game is a complete nonsense as he does not act at all like the trickster god we know him as the closest thing to that is heimdall but like I said he only lacks the interesting aspects of said character.
