Central Hunza is the most popular tourist destination because of its stunning scenery. A famous peak, Ladyfinger also lies in the same valley. Situated on the north-west of Hunza River, the valley has extraordinary infrastructure, compared to other tourist spots in Pakistan.
The environment in which the Hunza Valley live is mountainous and has extremely rough terrain. The villages are incredibly isolated and built into the cliffside; some villages are more than 1,000 years old.
Karimabad, also called Baltit or Hunza, town in the Gilgit-Baltistan area of the Pakistan. Formerly a small principality under the hereditary ruler known as the Mir of Hunza, it joined with Pakistan in 1947.
Burushaski language, also spelled Burushaki or Burushki, language spoken primarily in the Hunza, Nagar, and Yasin valleys of northern Pakistan. It is estimated to have some 90,000 speakers. Burushaski is a linguistic isolate, a language whose genetic relationship to other languages is not yet clear.
Healthy living advocate J. I. Rodale wrote a book called The Healthy Hunzas in 1948 that asserted that the Hunzas, noted for their longevity and many centenarians, were long-lived because they consumed healthy organic foods, such as dried apricots and almonds, and had plenty of fresh air and exercise.
