The Jonangi, also known as Jonangi Jagilam or Kolleti Jagilam is an Indian dog breed, majorly found in the separated state of Andhra Pradesh and also in some parts of Karnataka and all along the east coast from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu.
According to the locals, they were originally bred by duck herders. They would migrate with the birds, herding, and keeping them safe from predators. Elsewhere, they were used variously as hunting or herding dogs.

Alangukottai was built on the principle that Indian native dogs should be recognized. People all over the world should know about indies. Our primary goal is to showcase Indian dog breeds and raise awareness of the advantages of adopting dogs that are used to the Indian climate and conditions instead of importing expensive foreign dog breeds.
