Your comments on Benin Empire was inaccurate. Oyo was a small area prior and never an empire.
@Lifeofriley43Ай бұрын
Do some research before you come on public spaces to speak on anything The oyo empire had every Yoruba states under it and other external states in Nigeria like niger state. It also spread as far down to Cameroon, benin republic, Togo, Ghana, Niger, sierra leone, Dahomey, mali, bukinafaso and cotonu. Benin was never an empire but a kingdom. That's why there's only one state to it and only few benin speakers. Get your facts right!

History is unconcerned with your emotions. Your animosity towards the Yorubas will not alter historical facts. The Ife Prince, who founded the Benin kingdom and established it as a principality, also founded Oyo. He left his infant son, Eweka, in Benin and ruled Oyo himself. Before Oranmiyan the Great's conquest, Ogiso was merely an uncivilized chiefdom, with no archaeological, cultural, or historical relevance. Notably, Benin was historically referred to as a kingdom, not an empire. Benin's renown stems from its sculptures, and historical and archaeological records show that its artisans learned this art from the Ife kingdom. Nigeria's actual empires were the Kanem-Borno and Oyo empires. Know this and know peace!

I very much enjoyed this video, particularly your mention of the smelting site in Lejja, Enugu State. It seems fairly certain the site dates to 2000 BC and one source I read said possibly 2600 BC. This would match or possibly pre date any other know site in the world. Given the tie of iron working to the birth of civilization, that's kind of important. I wonder if it's Western bias that most often cites ancient Anatolia as the birthplace of iron working?

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Re Anatolia, I know what you mean, and I'm hoping it's because our discoveries are more recent that theirs, so work is still being done to confirm dates. @@Historyngpro Great job my brother. Am a Ngerian Historian, resident in Germany. Even though, there are ommisions, which is dependent on the historical materials you have at your disposal. The Histories of the ancient world before the first Egyptian dynasty, the Sumerian, Phoenician civilizations are ancient Nigerian civilizations, infact, Books like Tropical Dependency leads one to many other historical records, which are being kept in many Museums in the colonial Nations, hundreds of thousands of them. We also have proofs, that the first 5 dynasties of ancient Egypt, were the Phoenicians, the builders of the pyramids, the same who were in Atlantis and all over the continents of the world. The Pharaohs after the reign of Ptolemy were also ancient Nigerians, whose descendants today are the Hausas. The truths are hidden in the basements of the Oriental Museums of the colonial Nations, who literally cleaned out Africa, after the invasions of Kingdoms, countless genocides and of course, the cleaning of these Kingdoms wealth, thousands of tonnes of Gold, Silver, diamonds, precious stones, and so called artifacts were stolen by them. Please get in touch, if you want to know more, thats just a chip on the iceberg. The face of the Sphinx can only be predominantly found in South West Nigeria, the yorubas , who are the direct descendants of the Phoenicians. You must be mad, Attah igala was the last born from nnewi, modern day nnewi town in anambra state, nnewi was the only daughter of ERI the father of all igbos, Attah was a hunter, and according to history our people were farmers and fishermen, Attah introduced war like hunting expeditions, ERI was a priest king and he never liked it so he told him to go up north where bushmeat are in excess, when he got to the area, he found another tribe there, he married the chiefs daughter and became the king, he organized the same kingship style of NRI, which the priest, elders and the people have the ruling power, igala people speaks a dialect of Igbo language so we’re one, though because of intermarriages, the language is mixed, there was no record of Attah ruling NRI kingdom, the kingship always goes to the first son and Attah was in no position of ascending the throne, I’m from NRI kingdom and I hate people who make up stories about our history 🎉

Ewu oya tell me where ancient Nri kingdom is located in Igalaland, always talking capish to prove a point. Eri the father of Nri had a son named Attah/Onoja who founded Igalla. Go and research that, it is not the other way round Nri is widely asserted to be the motherland and cradle of the Igbo ethnicity. It is also generally believed and widely accepted that Eri is the father of Nri. The origin of Eri however, is vague. One theory goes that Eri was a divine being sent by Chukwu (God), to make peace, cleanse abominations and provide foods for mankind, thus the theory of him descending from the sky. Eri had two wives by the time he arrived at the Ezu Na Omambala confluence, Nneamaku, and Oboli who were the first and second wife respectively. Nneamaku bore five children Nri-Ifikwuanịm-Menri being the first son also known as Nri, Agụlụ, Ogbodudu, Onogu, and Iguedo the only daughter, while Oboli the second wife bore an only child Onoja. Onoja founded present-day Igala in Kogi state[6]. Eri’s first son Nri-Ifikwuanịm begot Agụkwu Nri, Enugwu-Ukwu, Enugwu-Agidi, Nọfịa, and Amọbia. His sister Iguedo begot Ogbunike, Ọkuzu, Nando, Ụmụleri, and Nteje which are known today as the Umu Iguedo clan. Onogu begot Ịgbariam. Eri’s first son Nri-Ifikwuanim was a spiritual priest like his father. He left Aguleri and settled at a thick forest he called Agu-Ukwu Nri[7] which is the present-day Nri Kingdom. Here he engaged in hunting, farming and also performed priestly duties and demonstrated his spiritual prowess just as his father Eri did.

This is false history. History according to Igbo Biafraud. You did a terrible job.

Cool story. Where's your proof?
@BENINMAN-dr6sgАй бұрын
The ipob biafraud are very busy trying to distort the history of mostly the Benin empire and also of the rest of the southern part of Nigeria. They think that by doing this our children and our people will think that they are Biafrans. Just as they failed in 1967, they're going to fail. We the great Benin are not and will never be biafrans.
