What sets Ogre and Tekken 3 apart from other Tekken games, is how the main plot line is generally not tied to the Mishimas. It is this evil monster going around killing fighters and taking on their abilities. It was neat and gave us a look at what Tekken's story can be without the Mishimas at the centerpiece.

Ancient Ogre was always a remarkable monster/villain.....They should have let him be the stronger one...more stronger than the Mishimas since Ogre has seen the world that others have not. Such a shame they let him get beaten by Paul then by Jin. It's a disgrace for ogre. His silent stare alone was enough to kill any fighter.

Akuma never struggled with Heihachi. He fucked him up pretty hard to the point where Heihachi almost died, and the only reason he survived is because of the plot armor and because he had to fight Kazuya, and Akuma wasn't even trying, or to be more precise, he was holding back. Plus he was even disappointed with Heihachi. Later, he was owning Kazuya's ass for the majority of the fight, which prompted Kazuya to turn into a Devil Kazuya to stand a chance, like Heihachi stated. Even in their final battle, he fought to a draw to Devil Kazuya, again in base form. Shin Akuma wasn't present, he has white hair, darker skin, and purple gi. Even if he was Shin, it was only during the gameplay, not during the actual canon, since we know how Shin Akuma looks. Akuma wrecked the top two tiers in Tekken after Jin, in base form, if he turned into Oni, we already know how would that end.

Black Speech correction, both heihachi and akuma was holding back, plot armor, WTF were talking about a Mishima that survives everything even got his soul taken from ogre, here there extremely durable, heihachi got blast it away several miles and all he can think about is how the fuck akuma know kazumi, kazuya only has half the devil gene fighting shin akuma, now mind you, your giving akuma to much credit which I understand cause your sf fan, but kazuya only has half of his power, while jin has the other half, he was weakened and exhausted from heihachi then akuma telling him my power absolute turn into shin akuma, this is the reason I know 1. Normal akuma don't move like that, 2. Its call namco version of shin akuma, 3. Why would he hold back if he just find out that heihachi didn't die by his attack, and promise kazumi. 4. Shin akuma hair doesn't need to turn white, have you play the alpha series he was shin akuma but he was still in he's original purple GI, red hair, but his aura was different just like this one in tk7 5. Tekken 8 needs to go back to the Tekken 4 and 5 story format. That prologue style was it. The artwork, the narrator(who actually gave a shit), the soundtrack made it all very effective. The story was at its best when each fighter had a proper motivation that you could really invest in. I think the problem with Tekken today is the lack love for some characters. About 75% are either half-arsed or team-up plots so as to reduce the effort of writing overarching storylines. It seems anyone who isn't a Mishima or Kazama gets screwed over. Also, Tekken 7 endings were bad, they were basically Tekken 5 story interludes.

yeah its sad how pretty much all non mishima's in 7 were reduced to joke characters. They werent charming or fun as say Dan hibiki. You can pretty much chalk up all their endings as cheap laughs and big lipped alligator moments. i mean what happened at the graveyard with king's story? Eddy Gordo really bit the dust the most in terms of a built up arc

Archus orez Kazuya didn't turn Devil when he had a draw with Paul before Tekken 1.In Tekken 1 Kazuya won in a tough battle but again he didn't get "buffed up with the Devil Gene".And in the new titan comics that take place before Tekken 7 and after Tekken 6 Kazuya was able to handle Paul just fine,don't know if they are canon though.

Some hidden backstory: There was a pendant passed down in Michelle Chang's tribe which was said to be able to either awaken or control Ogre. Heihachi sent Mr. Chang to retrieve this pendant but instead of turning it in, the man married Mrs. Chang and Michelle Chang was born from that union. Heihachi has Mr. Chang killed sometime after that. Years later Kazuya kidnaps Michelle's mother in order to force her to come into the tournament so that he could get the pendant from her but is unsuccessful. Sometime before Tekken 3 Heihachi kidnaps Michelle and uses the pendant to awaken Ogre, and the rest is history.

Ogre seems to be inspired by the mythology of Huitzilopochtli. The dropping from the sky could be inspired by the Aztec's fear of not supplying enough blood to Huitzilopochtli to fight against his siblings otherwise they would descend on mother earth and kill her. Puts Ogre in a different perspective rather than thinking he's an alien, it's just that the Aztec gods were a bit more cosmic. Also my memory doesn't serve me too well on this but isn't the mark on Jin being the mark of the devil gene a red herring? I only say that because Jun/Unknown has the same mark. Perhaps it's a devil seal mark? Not only that Kazuya doesn't have one and AFAIK neither does Azazel who is the originator of the devil gene.

I think Unkown is actually Jun Kazama in Devil form that she partially inherited from Jin as an unborn child mixed with her spiritual and supernatural powers. It's activated by Ogre's presence and he branded them both which explains why Unkown and Jin share the same tattoo. Unknown only appears when Jun does in Tag 1 and 2 just like Jin after Tekken 3 with his Devil form

I like how the video focuses on Jin, Heihachi and Ogre and then suddenly "Ogre would go toe to toe with *Paul Phoenix* and *Paul Phoenix* was in fact able to defeat him.".For a newcomer it would be normal to say "Wait? Tekken 4 prologue says Paul defeated Ogre and thought he was winner of the tournament and left. Then Ogre transformed without Paul knowing, and the tournament continued. Nothing about purposefully turning his back on a transformed Ogre was mentioned.

Julius Toledo both characters most recent appearance models arent that similar. Tag 2 Ogre is actually the model of Jin a bit taller and reskinned. Algol appeared before Ogre (model not the game), and his facial features from ScIV (used aswell in V) arent the same as Ogre. Algol reassambles more a Kazuya face rather than Ogre's

Nigh Omni Shinra - I can see the resemblance to Xemnas but he reminds me of how Ogre floats around. Beast King - "they have a similar animation." _Modeled_ may not be the right word but what they wear and the appearance seems similar. Kazuya's facial structure and build is shared with most of the male characters in Tekken 5, as well as those in Soul Calibur 5. I feel they are copy and pasting.
