I remember in 1970's/80's in Karachi my whole family use to sit in front of the TV along with my uncles , aunts and cousins to watch dramas. It use to be a festive occasion , miss those days.

بھائی جان بہت زیادہ مزہ آیا اور بہت معلومات بہت اچھی طرح سے کیا بات ہے ۔ میں ٖGENRATION X کا نمائندہ ہوں اور پی ٹی وی میرا بھی ہے۔ طارق عزیز اندر جاتے ہم کچھ لڑکے شہزاد خلیل روڈ والے دروازے کے اردگرد منڈلاتے رہتے کبھی کبار کوئی گیٹ آفیسر اندر جانے کی اجازت دے دیتا جہاں کمرہ کمرہ دو دو دستک دے کر دروازہ کھول کر دیکھتے اور مشہور ہستیوں کو دیکھ کر خوش ہو جاتے کبھی کبھی مشہسرر فنکاروں کے ساتھ بازار وغیرۃ کے سین بھی کرتے تے ایک دفعہ تو اشفاق احمد جب بہت مشہور تھے اُنہیں میں نے خط لکھا کہ ٹی وی پر اداکاری میں مدد چاہیے انہوں نے خط کے اندر ایک خط ایک پروڈیوسر کے نام دیا جو میں نے بغیر کھولے جا کر انہیں دے دیا ان کے پاس ان دنوں کوئی ڈرامہ نہیں تھا اُنہوں نے مجھے کاظم پاشا کے پاس بھیجا جنہوں نے مجھے ایک مشہور ڈرامے میں کھلونوں کا دکاندار کا کردار ملا لیکن ان کے ایک اسسٹنٹ نے وہ رول کسی اور کو دے دیا اس کردار کا کاظم پاشا نے مجھ سے باقاعدہ کنٹریکٹ سائن کرایا تھا جِس کے مطابق مجھے سو روپیے کا چیک بھی ،لنا تھا ۔ اتنا سب بتانے کا مقصد ہے کہ آپ کی محنت ضائع نہیں جائے گی نہ گئی ہے۔ شاباش۔

Do you know what PTV did with all this equipment in this video? Like the Umatic 3/4” VTRs, Betacam SP VTRs, 1 inch open reel VTRs do you know if they still have them? Did PTV preserve all the old video tape recordings and digitize them? Do they still have tape rooms ? Curious to know what happened to all this equipment in the video.

Karachi of today is such a let down compared to the city I remember in the 6O's and 70's. You could drink alcohol, dance, gamble and enjoy the company of beautiful Pakistan women. Might as well be a ghost town now. No fun, just a boring city with to much religion and not much fun.
