It’s possible that kozaboro was his grandfather,, one of zoros parents was koshiros sibling, that would make kuina his cousin. Only if all these are true then that would make Zoro a direct descendant of ryuma, and a shimotsuki link to ushimaru. He’s the rightful owner of the wado ichimonji and the enma, becuz his grandfather crafted them.

Why are people confused as to how Zoro beat Ryuma's corpse? They give the argument that Zoro beat him without even knowing about haki. First of all, It was Ryuma's corpse that did the fighting and with Brook's shadow as his soul (should I remind you that the soul is an important aspect of using haki? The weaker the soul, the weaker the haki essentially). I can imagine a Brook, a skeleton losing to a skinny-ass zombie of a former strongest swordsman who died centuries ago, but man were u trippin if u think Zoro can't win that. But that zombie Ryuma gave Zoro a good fight tho so imagine Ryuma in his living form.
