I love this crazy but ultra-informative introduction to the history of the world. I wish they'd make much more entertaining history lessons (or any other school topic for that matter). It would make school so much more enjoyable and interesting, leading to all students actually being interested in learning instead of being half asleep of boredom in the classrooms. This video should be shown the first day in middle school as an overview of what they're going to be learning going forward.

China. 26. Indus river valley civilization. 27. Norte Chico. 28. Greeks. 29. China. 30. New arrivals in India. Maybe it's those horse people I was talking about. They're cousins or something. And they wrote some hymns and mantras and stuff. 31. Now the Phoenicians can get down to business. 32. And they believe in God. 33. It's the Persian Empire. 34. Time to conquer all of India or most of India. 35. Merchants, probably. And they've got spices. 36. Brand new road to the world. Or you can get there own water. 37. China is whole again. Then it broke again. 38. Hell yeah! Now we've got business. 39. Is loving Jesus legal yet? 40. Main rival. 41. It's the Golden age of India. 42. Barbarians. 43. The Mayans have figured out the stars. 44. Back together. 45. Bigger, and there's more of them. 46. New kingdoms all over Europe. 47. Islamic Golden age. 48. It's the Seljuk Turks. 49. Crusade. 50. Hello Toltecs. 51. Hello Mississippi. 52. Africa. 53. Ming. 54. Well I guess we'll have to find another way to India. 55. Sugar. 56. Me. 57. But he came back. 58. Many different types of machines and factories with machines in them so they can make a lot of products real fast. 59. The sultan of Ulma lives in Zanzibar now. 60. Technology is about to go crazy. 61. Hawaii. 62. Cuba. 63. Communism in the Soviet Union. 64. So we can give the Jewish people a place to live. 65. Except Turkey, Turkey makes a brand new Turkey. 66. If you like history, you should react to "OverSimplified" videeos. They are awesome and funny.

Extra history has a number of amazing videos told in a narrative style, nowhere near as fast. If you don’t know much about WW1 they have a series called the Seminal tragedy about how it started that’s really incredible that explains 1800’s and early 1900’s in europe as good background. It’s a great place to start and has an avid and generally positive audience for reactors. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iV7ahH9qjNaIrdU - here’s the first episode If you want to try them out with something smaller than a series they did a number of one off episodes, like the Christmas Truce of ww1, the Berlin Airlift, and Saragarhi - basically the Alamo of the Sikhs. Other ones I’d recommend are Oversimplified which is generally comedic and doesn’t generally give people wrong information when simplifying, and Epic History which are generally longer but still pretty accessible. My personal favorite is probably Historia Civilis, I don’t know if you have any interest in Ancient Rome but his videos basically gave me mine.
