As a Dyna owner with a tc88 I can vouch that there's a lot of things Harley could have done better with this bike. The Sportster was a much better bike in engine/cam chest, transmission, and chassis design but unfortunately the Sportster could have been a little bit bigger in physical size. The perfect Harley for me would be an Evo Sportster in the physical size and displacement of a Dyna.

My first bike was a 2001 Sportster 1200. Engine was good, but I'm 6'2 180lbs. I looked like a monkey on a tricycle 😂. Currently have the tc88. After a few upgrades/fixed, the bike is perfect I love the Dyna platform. But hey, thank you for watching the video, I do hope you stick around for more

Actually the 99 to 02 dynas are superior to a lot of other bikes. You just have to upgrade the Cam chest, motor mounts, suspension and add some sputhe stabilizers. They will eat a Sportster up all day. You just need to get rid of them garbage azz Harley parts to make the Harley worth riding 😂. Seriously tho the carbureted twincam 88 bikes are very underrated with some tinkering they will dust a lot of other nicer fuel injected Harleys. Gotta know your shit and not be a knob that goes to the dealer for oil changes.

I’m from Pittsburgh and I have been riding nothing but Harleys since 1987 when I got my 1st Harley at 17 years old, which I still have. I find that once I buy a bike and ride it for a season I inevitably fall in love with it and then I CAN’T bring myself to sell it, I just buy another one eventually. So I got 3 Harleys now and I’m looking to buy a Sportster for my wife for this coming riding season. I have a 76’ Superglide FXE (my 1st bike), a 99’ FLH Standard I bought brand new and put right around 100,000 miles on it, and a 2001 Road King that someone chromed the shit out of before I got it which is awesome in my opinion. That Road King is basically my daily driver if it’s not freezing or pouring down rain here in Pittsburgh. All that to say I have never really known what a Dyna is and I even asked an employee of mine who is younger-“What is a Dyna Harley exactly?” I didn’t know exactly what that was and neither did he and we both know A LOT about Harleys. So thank you for thoroughly explaining this. I rode the beginning of the Dyna Harley for around 12 years and didn’t even know it! LOL!

The dyna was my entry into harley, I had never seen the show, but there was a cheap 2002 superglide for sale nearby. I went there looked it over and made a deal. No cheap harley is ever cheap. I learned that... But over the 2 year period of ownership, reading forums and determining what was best for what, I fully fleshed out my bike to be exactly what i wanted. I guess its a dyna bro bike, but its just so badass and cool. Suspension was upgraded to legends piggy backs, my Vance and hines pipes would no longer work with this setup so i was forced into a 2 into 1 bassani which sucked. Maybe thats why you see so many 2 into ones? I did put a fairing on bc i do too much long distance riding on the dyna. My other two bikes are japanese sport bikes. The front suspension is also legends with a +2 in height fork tubes, i went with gold rear shocks and gold fork tubes. Then i went crazier, put full custom dynamic lights on, an s and s 100 ci kit with gear drive conversion and 585 cams. Saddleman seat, and the finishing touch was a dakota digital guage that reads out the rpms which was worth its weight in gold. I also saved all the og parts to preserve the original dyna stuff. I have pretty much fallen in love with my bike and ill never sell it, i originally bought it so my wife could ride on the back, but that was the best excuse ever. Edited for spelling

Picked up an 07 DB when my daily went to a 130 miles.in 2019. Had 30,000? on it. Hated the factory bars, so somewhat of a club bike I guess, why reinvent the wheel? 07 was the first year for hydraulic chain tensioner I believe. I put mids on it and it’s been a excellent bike. Until (What do you mean “it’s maintenance” to replace the TC chains & lifters between 45-65,000 miles?) Currently at 69,000, be more but covid and a knee replacement in 2020. While she was waiting behind my Shovelhead for some love, an FXRP came into the picture! So it sits against the wall with new tires & shocks. And occasionally tries to knock me out when I lean down to pick something up off the floor! To keep from riding it and damaging the engine, I put the Dyna Bro bars on my FLH which I like, then realized I couldn’t move the Dyna in my one car garage. So back on with the factory bars. I did put her on my air table, more of an illusion, as the RP keeps taking all the money!

Dynas are overrated in today’s world. You can buy a 10+ year old dyna for 15k-20k and then spend another 20k to have a bike that is just barely more capable than a stock fxlrs. Or you could buy a two year old fxlrs for $15k and spend another 20k on it and have a bike that will destroy that dyna. Let’s be honest, the only reason everybody wants a dyna is because everybody wants a dyna. Not because they’re the better bike.
@LeviWetCycles6 сағат бұрын
True that man. Dyna is overrated, I personally have one because I got a smokin deal on a DX, and parts are everywhere
