In school in the UK where I grew up, children called me OGRE. Needless to say I hated my name and still mostly hate it now, although I don't cringe as hard when I hear it as I did before.

I’ve always loved my name. It means “ happy, healthy, holy”. Sweetheart, your comment broke my heart I can’t even imagine hating such a special name as you and I both share.

Thank you for explanation! Its my name as well, but as a young adult I can say its quite unpopular in middle Europe and I am named after my great-grandmother. I ve never really liked it, but I kinda used to it and Im using shorter nickname, which sounds really nice. But it is still very popular name in Russia, but their name-influence is not that strong I guess 😄

With respect; You should ask chechnyans if the 90's felt like a time of great diplomacy. Russia grew through conquest, oppression and genocides. Even today that still stands. But the rest is good
