The CFC portion of this video was jaw-dropping, some real spelunking in not just the TCG's history, but that of its community. I am also a huge fan of Lost Worlds and was real surprised to not only have him be brought up in this, but also you being able to reach out to him given the apparent hiatus of their channel.

I still have my lanyard and whatnot from going to Seattle for the 2012 championship. I played Spectral Duke, but ended up losing round 2 against Tsukuyomi. The whole event was still fun, though. When Duke got his V remake, I jumped on it and still have the deck to this day. I kinda miss the old game, pre-Legion.

Great historical video as always chief. 👍 Here's a story that I didn't live through, but my more veteran friends at locals did around this time in the game's lifespan: So just like you explained in your video, Spectral Duke Dragon was the best deck in this weird, out of order format. It was so good, that the owner of the shop was losing vanguard players for a little while. He was asking around as to why less people were showing up, and some said that due to the mixed up releases, not everyone was able to handle SDD without breaking their wallets in half, and even then, it was a struggle. So he made a survey on Facebook to ask if more players would join if he made a house rule to ban Spectral Duke Dragon for a while. Survey said yes in majority, so for the next few months, Spectral Duke Dragon was banned from his local store at least and the number of players didn't just go back to normal, it increased by a lot. Again, I didn't personally live through that format at the time, but it was just a story he told us when a ban list was put in place in the middle of G format.

Brandon Smith winning Worlds 2012 was what caused Halo Shield Mark's price to bump from 10-11 USD to 28 USD. Not even it getting reprinted in BT09 lower its price. Glad I bought my playset before the rise. Also I used to play on CFC. Even won one of their tournaments with a freaking Lohengrin deck at the time (It was right before the Big 3 meta). Tried to play the Big 3 decks, but failed at it. Like I have more consistent wins, even against the Big 3, with a BT04 Garmore deck and a BT03 Galahad deck of all things. Tried to join the biggest team of CFC at the time, but failed twice. Later on went on to join another newer and uprising team. After CFC got the C&D, still hang out for some time (Back then, they stopped adding new cards so we have to proxy. The platform's manual nature allow us to do so). Later on, went on to try Cardfight Arena and immediately got a culture shock. The amount of cheaters over there is so overwhelming, I actually encountered 10 cheaters in a row (With some even calling me a cheater). After that, I wouldn't even touch CFA with a 10 feet pole unless I am playing with known friends.

I'm a little sad that Spectral Duke Dragon line never got a Revenger retrain.

Lol no I was hoping no one would notice but i had some issues with the original audio so i had to frantically do it over, but it was really early in the morning and my voice was alittle horse from the night before. It smoothes out later in the video lol

If I recall the Cease & Desist against CFC happened because there was an official ENG Bushi Blog where people could ask questions and someone posted screenshots of CFC asking "Is this legal? It kinda is stealing your artworks without asking permission"

I used to play garmore...left when the powercreep went into sonic speed...now I'm trying to come back and seems like I'm coming back right at the start of creep again...sadly no decks have the ascetic of garmore soo defaulted to the thegrea one for now....sadly it seems usa side vanguard is struggling and the few communities I find are small along with stores just not carrying the product...not even walmart.

You know how people nowadays joke that "Bushi hate bugs"? Yeah, you look at these cards, and the fact that in ENG you can't even use them on release because Set 4 wasn't out yet, and the bugs-no-love meme was a thing since day one. And spoiler warning, the next time Bugs get any support after this set would be , at the very end of Limit Break era.
