My husband LJ Falgout, Jr . Was from Larose, La which is in Bayou Lafourche, and he loved to joke ! I heard him tell a story Saying “ when the Cajuns were heading over this way many years ago they would comment “ West We Go “ and he said that was how Westwego was named !! I loved hearing your story which reminded me of his story he once told me ! Thankyou

I lived in westwego my whole life never heard that one. Lol. We used to call it “the city of 7 smells”
