La Belle Otero made a fortune by "flirting" with wealthy men who couldn't resist her allure.

The picture you are using at the start of this video is actually Lina Cavilleri, the Italian opera singer. The women looked a little similar but Cavilleri who was referred to as the most beautiful girl in the world was the greater beauty. You need to check more carefully to ensure you are using the correct photos

Wow! I can't even imagine her life. Never a dull moment. Having read up on the lives of other courtesans in history she breezed through the trail of men who appreciated her gifts. I am assuming if she had contracted a dread disease it would have been mentioned. Syphilis was the scourge of the day for women in her profession. She lived to her nineties. I am impressed.

Beauty, real beauty has nothing to do with a pretty face or body. It’s to do with the person. Look at Mona Lisa. Enigmatic, mysterious and with a delightful little smirk. Beauty is intelligence, or compassion, kindness or a quick wittiness. Beauty is fine, but if you can have great conversation and laugh night after night? You decide.
@SEJ3333
@SEJ3333 3 ай бұрын
I basically agree - one's "attractiveness" is heigtened by wit, personality, etc. I'd add that deas of beauty change through the ages, though some factors remain constant. Mona Lisa was never considered a beauty but an enigma, and there continues to be speculation that it's actually the artist's self-portrait.

Thank you for that intelligent answer. Everyone has preferences when it comes to physical beauty. This woman was gifted with the art of knowing what some men want in and out of the bedroom. She had grace and a sense of style too. They could take her places where she would easily fit in. The beauty comes in not only the gymnastics in the bedroom, but what she provided outside the bedroom as well. Culture, class, sex appeal, and intelligent conversation.

Nicolas had lovers. They were just that - lovers only . Princess Alex was his true love. It was normal for royalty to have sexual liaisons. Doesn’t mean it was love or it meant anything to them.

Tsar Nicholas was a spoiled autocrat. His wife was a feather brained aristocrat who believed in Rasputins mystical “powers” to cure her son’s haemophilia. We will never know who he slept with or didn’t . No one in his circle would ever tell. One night would be inflated into a full blown affair. I wonder why she never had children? Very clever in her era.

Wasn´t she also known as the Suicide Lady because several of her lovers or would be rejects killed themselves over her ? She was friends with the French writer Colette and had a great rival courtesan Liane de Pougy who was thought to be more high class. I believe a Mexican Movie was made about her in the 1960s. Cornelia Otis Skinner wrote about her and other French Courtesans in a book dealing with Elegant Wits and Grand Horizontals.)(1962), Nice work.

Not sure I believe the story of the affair with Nicholas II. It's hard to tell from the storyline, but I think by that time be was married to Alexandra, his (seemingly) one true love. He was however, a notorious chain-smoker, so maybe he stank of nicotine. Nicholai and Peter were his uncles and infamous (Nicholai especially) for running around Europe and generally being scandelous.

On the basis of a few old photos, some are stating that she wasn't pretty or beautiful. I discovered many years ago that the beauty of some women is not caught in photographs. I decided that a large part of beauty lies in the way the woman moves, and in intelligence. On the other hand some women that look beautiful in photographs are not in real life. And, weirdly, some women, beautiful in real life, just left me cold. No attraction at any level. "Oh my god she's beautiful - why don't i feel anything?" was the question i never found an answer to, but i suspect pheromones. So, i feel that "she wasn't pretty" is over simplistic :)
