History Tarna devi mandir mandi | Tarna mata temple mandi | mata shyama kali mandir tarna | Himachal Pradesh
Today, we're going to visit such a unique temple where the spiritual aura of the Goddess is so powerful that devotees can see idol only from sideways angle
We are climbing up the stairs of famous Mandi-based temple Tarna Devi Ji,
The temple's history dates back to 17th century
One Bengal's king established this temple
Devotees can reach the temple via two ways Either by stairs or by car
In 17th Century, King Shyam Sen established his kingdom
in Mandi region that was complete jungle at that time.
King used to love doing hunting and he would see his prey from his telescope from his kingdom
Once he saw three girls on mountain through his telescope. When king visited that same place on mountain, those three girls vanished from the sightThen, King saw a dream of same three girls who called themselves as three goddess
Goddess Kali, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Laxmi ji
Then, King got this temple built in complete GOLD
One would find same in the GOLDEN temple, Amritsar
Why can't devotees see Goddess from straight point?
The spiritual aura of the Goddess is very powerful so devotees can only see her from sideways angle
Even we perform prayers of the Goddess from sideways angle
This temple is called as Mata Shyama Kali temple

Since the goddess grants the wishes of every devotee
The temple timings are as follows
Opening time: 4.30 AM (Summers), 5.30 AM (Winters)
Closing time: 9:00 PM (Summers), 7:30 PM (Winters)
Aarti timing: Morning 7:45 am & Evening 6:45 pm

Maa Tarna Devi such a beautiful temple surrounded by great mountain ranges.. to be honest I never heard about such temple until learning about the rich history and unique attribute which is no devotee can have direct darshan of Goddess maa due to her glaring spiritual aura.
