We need to remember all those that have done for the people. All people. Not just a select few. Civil Rights Influencers are those people. Thank you for without these people we all would be living in a worse world today. But let us not forget that this is not over until all are treated as equal.

My grandfather may not have been very influencial, but he started the civil rights movement in 1942, Rosa Parks used his case to win her case.

SNCC did not organize the 1961 Freedom Rides. This was a project of CORE, the Congress of Racial Equality. After the first buses were attacked in Anniston and Birmingham in May 1961, CORE decided to end the Freedom Ride. But the Nashville Student Movement, led by Diane Nash, stepped in and organized supplementary rides, not under the auspices of SNCC (which, in May 1961, was still getting its legs). But CORE resumed its leadership role by the end of May, pushed by student chapters throughout the South. The rides continued through the end of the year. SNCC did not sponsor or organize the rides. After the initial wave of violence, it was a collaborative effort by multiple groups, with CORE at the front.

The History Channel needs to be a bit more thorough with their content. The narrator states that Josephine Ruffin was born in 1842, while the text claims she was born in 1939.

I feel like Delores Huerta is out of place in this video. When people speak on the civil rights movement, they are speaking on the struggle of black Americans fighting Jim Crow oppression. Better labor practices for farm workers is a separate matter altogether. We’re talking about the worst continuous human rights crisis of all time, not farm worker wages.

@@Pause4pot Oh, lol. I own businesses. No one lied. I'm the wrong one to push that nonsense to. No, you are all not employed with others being underemployed and underpaid. It's funny how suddenly you all are trying to use "lying" as a "bad" thing given how central lying is to your existences and your day-to-day survival. You clowns dont get to talk about what's moving through Congress and what's not after a decade of obstruction that sabotaged the middle class in this country. You all don't get to talk about the nuances of legislation after supporting and participating in treacherous actions against the United States of America. You all are certifiably nuts if you think your treacherous , vile ways have any moral authority over real Americans. Lol.
