@Donold Trump I had heard that it was canceled when they pulled Dead Files and several other Fake shows at the start of the year. So you might get that wish if you wish hard enough, then again it does seem to have a way of creeping back out of the crud and ending back on the air. No matter how bad the ratings are or if no one watches it. Could be that the Million ares are simply paying to keep it on air, would not be the first time some rich jerk at the very least tried that move. A show comes to mind "Who wants to work for a Narcissistic Criminal" or something to that effect??? I am sure it had a shorter title but you get the point, though I never watched it. We just called it The Annoying Azzhat on TV, and watched something else or read a book when that show was on.

The real treasure is the income from advertisers that are paying to keep this show on the air. Likely nothing they find at the bottom will bring in more money than the show. I can see it now: Doc Brown and Marty McFly will read TV Guide in the year 2355 and see Episode 4,522 "Shaft 647 has been discovered and explored!"

How long did it take Mel Fisher to find the Spanish Galleon Nuestra Señora de Atocha? His search became an obsession covering a couple decades. He experienced financial setbacks and great personal tragedies in his quest but succeeded finally in 1985. The Oak Island Searches, Mysteries, and Legends are several centuries old. The Laginas have come closer than any of the previous searchers (including FDR) to finding out what exactly is under Oak Island.

7 years of watching this show and never missing an episode. I wish they would condense it and put less episodes on the air but more content in each episode. These episodes seem to drag on without finding anything but old searcher stuff. I mean they have found depositor things but so far, they havent followed up on it. If nothing else I would have started with that.
@johnwoa
@johnwoa 4 жыл бұрын
@Chad Sanborn if they followed up on "depositor things" they found, they would run the risk of solving the Oak Island mystery and there would be no more Reality Show and no one would be making money anymore.

@@johnwoa No, these shows have a "valued lifespan" expectancy. Even look at The Walking Dead... they tried milking that cow and now have droped viewers significantly. This show MUST conclude very soon, or it's going to die the same way. If they're smart business men / people, they'd be hoping for the story to conclude so they can do up a big finale, chocked full of ads :)

@@creepybunny255 Thanks for your reply! What you wrote would be nice. People have been complaining for years in the 'Comments' on these videos regarding this sensation-oriented "Entertainment" Reality Show. I hope they completely solve this 224-year mystery and hopefully a no-nonsense multi-episode DOCUMENTARY ("possibly produced by the CBC") could be made showing and explaining the findings. There would be a lot of material to be had. Many official entities have been involved with this Oak Island mystery over the decades--- the Canadian federal government (i.e. Geological Survey of Canada and a government research vessel), the Nova Scotia provincial government, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the U.S. and even the United States Air Force (i.e. in the early-1950's). If the Oak Island mystery was finally completely solved and the findings were not "Classified" by the Canadian government and placed under a publication ban for some geopolitical reason(s), there would be a TON of information that could be incorporated into many episodes of a television Documentary. Right now, History Channel is milking this top-rated Reality Show for all it's worth. Hopefully, clearer heads will prevail if and when the entire mystery is solved. BTW, if the Federal Trudeau Liberals took over that entire Oak Island and Vicinity search and excavations and allocated (taxpayer) money to fund it, I guarantee you that the entire mystery would be solved in two years or less! Sorry so Lengthy. --- John

I like the series. I am concerned that the team does not “appear” to use osha requirements for excavation and basic construction site PPE. With soils that have been disturbed in the past proper shoring techniques would be mandatory in the US. Hopefully I’m just an old PM that worries a lot and the team will get to the treasure with out any incidents. Remember...safety first (right behind profit)

Just started watching again. I can't wait for future episodes, I think something big is coming.. not THE jackpot, but I think they've found something good. The guy writing a book on the island and all his research said he can't speak on certain things, have stopped writing on his book and won't restart until certain things get aired. Plus, THEY are hiding a few details from him! I got a feeling they already found something and that will push them to keep going. I know that not too long ago they had talked privately about stopping the search. From researching, this was about the time that the network was rumored to have bumped them some cash for budget and all the budget talk on the show stopped. So IDK, we will see.

So essentially this show is about guys digging tunnels and shafts to find treasure and failing. The shafts and tunnels are then deserted only to be dug up by new deluded old guys hoping for mystical treasure!? Wow what a masterful piece of tv making! It doesn’t bear thinking about the amount of money wasted on this madness, and this is coming from a fan of the show 20 seasons ago! Unfortunately I can envisage the Laginas in old age still scraping away on their knees desperate to find something long after everybody else has upped sticks

Has anyone rebuilt the cofferdam in the cove where the flood tunnel inlets were originally located? The tunnels, five or more, were supposedly lined with rock and very identifiable, should be pretty easy to locate them and follow them to the original pit and then build a cofferdam around the pit and follow it down? It’s seemed to work the first time until the cofferdam was washed away (storm?) they didn’t rebuild the dam. curious.

So they discovered an old shaft which was dug by previous treasure hunters 150 years ago, which didn't find anything. Nice.

@Rick Judge Jr Unfortunately, you have to apply for and obtain government permits to do any digging on Oak Island, even though it is private property!

What good does it do to find that? If someone already dug and tunneled it then they'd have already taken any items that were down there. What a waste of money!

If you dug a shaft all the way through the earth, would you fall all the way through it, or would you float in the middle?
