Yeah. Liu Kang got replaced and so far his time in the new timeline has been shite. He follows Raiden and plays the role of hero(Defeating Goro, Shang Tsung, AND Shao Kahn among others) only to be told that he's not the chosen champion and his victories make everything worse. His mentor/leader gets his best friend killed, then is indirectly responsible for the deaths of almost all the other Earthrealm warriors even AFTER Liu Kang failed in finishing off Shao Kahn on Outworld. His love Kitana dies in his arms, and is killed by his own friend Raiden in brutal and painful fashion, as a result of his own attacks, no less. Then, he's a revenant for the next 25-some years as Quan Chi's slave and is now king of the Netherrealm alongside Kitana. He's probably had a worse go of it than any of the other main characters in the new timeline. Lol.

Mhm. Originally, MK was planned on being based upon Bloodsport, which Claude Van Dahmn (likely misspelled that) played the main character. Due to his schedule working with Hollywood on other projects at the time he couldn't sign on for motion capture work. Johnny Cage was based on Claude's character and the original idea for a Bloodsport title turned into the icon we know today as "Mortal Kombat".

Looking at this footage Johnny Cage has had the green energy since the first one even though in the first game it was just a small bursts like Luke and Fireballs in the second one instead of the afterimage being a dark shadow when he does his shadow it's a green afterimage so apparently he's had the green energy from the start course I did stop playing Mortal Kombat before Mortal Kombat gold came out so wow thanks for the video it's very informative
