Personally I like the thought of Akuma being in Tekken 7 for a number of reasons. 1. He fits the universe so it doesn't seem completely out of place for him to be fighting Tekken characters. Its similar to Kratos in MK, his universe is similar to Tekkens so he won't seem alien and to those who don't know about Street Fighter or Tekken, they'd likely think that Akuma was part of the regular cast. 2. He actually has a story that has to do with the main story in some way. It's not like Jason in MK X where he is just there, he actually has a reason for why he is around. Canon or non canon, I really enjoy when they give a third party character a valid reason for being in the game. 3. On the mention of canon, his inclusion very well could be canon. Where as nearly every other crossover is non canon and just for fun, Akuma could actually have significance to the plot. Given the fact that Street Fighter X Tekken implies both exist in the same universe, the trailer showing he has a debt to Heihachi's former wife and that Namco still has Tekken X Street Fighter in the works, I think it is safe to assume that Akuma is canon and that his appearance may lead to the events of Tekken X Street Fighter, at the very least his inclusion could be a game play test to see how SF characters work in a 3d game. 4. I just like crossovers so the mere fact that it's another character from a different franchise has me interested.

Update: After the disappearance of leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu, Jin Kazama. Heihachi regains control of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Instead of ending the war, Heihachi continues it. As the war reaches its end, The Mishima clan also reaches its end.

I see some people are being negative about Akuma being in Tekken. Well back when marvel vs capcom was even a thing, a factor that helped it become a huge series was that marvel allowed capcom to put one of their characters (Akuma) in the game. He was received pretty well since no one expected a Sf character in a X-men game even though it was created by capcom and after that Sf vs marvel was made, then marvel vs capcom was born

Even though the actor who portrayed Shang tsung in that mortal kombat movie, portrayed Heihachi in that 2010 tekken movie, I like to pretend that movie had nothing to do with the actual tekken games. Heihachi threw Kazuya into a volcano to test his strength, or more appropriately, maybe because he knew he had inherited the devil gene from his late wife. Keeping Kazuya from accessing the mishima zaibatsu would have kept it from taking the turn it did in the second game, that is if heihachi had that angle as they depicted him in that 2010 live action movie. It was good, but represented the fighters wrong, and eddy gordo was there and christie didn't even recognize or acknowledge him. Nina and Anna were actually working together, lol. That actor Ian anthony dale, who portrayed Kazuya Mishima captured him very well, because that is exactly who Kazuya is in the games.
