Thanks for the reaction History Buff. You're right: This is her first-ever original song release. The record producer / songwriter with which she's been working, Kevin Bowe, stated she'd like to try to release a new, original song every month or two. Kevin, by the way, has written for /worked with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker, Etta James, Three Dog Night, etc. Oh, and the legal drinking (and I assume bartending age) where she lives (the UK) and where she filmed the video (Spain) is 18. She's currently 18-years old. Thanks again!

Courtney is a unique artist. How often do you get to see an icon grow from a scared little girl to being an absolute marvel. They should make a movie about her while she's still young enough to play herself.

Hi. Went back and looked at what you've reacted to of Courtney in the past and both reactions were uptempo and when Courtney was on AGT, she only sang classic rock, so many only view her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, but if you go back and look at her full body of work, you'll see that she covers the gamut of genres from R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads in addition to Rock. The thing is, regardless of genre, there never is a bit of a drop off in the incredible quality of her music. She has one of the most versatile and beautiful voices that we've heard in forever. You mentioned song writing as well. Courtney has a huge song library of originals that she has built over the last few years as she has been unable to release her music due to the lock downs and travel bans due to Covid and issues with her label. She has shared a number of those songs in whole or in part with her fans, mostly over live chats on social media and they have been sensational. You can tell a little from how good the lyrics are to 'Breakable', but she is a true powerhouse as a songwriter. 'Breakable' is an amazing debut original single by Courtney. This is both her first original released as well as her first release as an independent artist and she just hit a home run. Her vocals just soar in this incredible song, the lyrics are an emotional gut punch and the fabulous video just reinforces all of the emotion contained in this song visually. After years of fighting to release the music that she loved and having labels try and twist her into something she didn't want to be, Courtney finally decided to go it on her own. In a true testament to her, she achieved in two months, what the labels couldn't do in years. Besides being the voice of a lifetime, she is focused, driven, has an incredible work ethic and is an all around kind and cool person. One thing about Courtney is when she wants to get something done nothing is going to stop her. A true role model in so many ways for all of us, who just also happens to have generational level talent. Everybody needs to get out and stream/watch this fabulous song. It is a masterpiece. Everyone has been burnt by someone or something in their lifetime, so this song will be relatable to so many people on a personal level. No one can touch your soul when she sings like Courtney and it feels like she is having a one on one conversation with your heart in this song. You haven't reacted to Courtney for a while, but buckle your seat belt. Now that she's in control of her own music, it was said to expect a release approximately every month. So I expect you'll be doing a good number of Courtney reactions going forward. She has already mentioned that her next release will be more uptempo and future songs should be in a wide variety of vocal styles.

I listen to 'Breakable' everyday and god knows how many times in a day bet I'll break the record lol, however, every time I listen to her no matter which song sung by her, she gives me goosebumps, reminds me that we have a legend in the making in the world of music, people compare her to various legends but she is all in one, she is a fire cracker, love her so very much.

Trouble is it to me it must be very hard to write an original song when you have so many influences running around trying to get in pole position to be heard. I hope that makes sense.

Admittedly I haven’t heard any of her original stuff until now. I liked it. I looked it up and for the record she is currently 18. I don’t know the liquor laws for every state but for sure she is not old enough to serve beer here in Utah. Speaking of the “cover band” thing and you mentioning Liliac, I’ll throw a request at you to react to Liliac’s original “Not Afraid” (official music video) [extended version]. I’m sure you’ll get plenty of Fangs to inform of the ‘lil story behind it after. Enjoy! 🤘😎🤘

Listen, I'm sorry I didn't fawn all over her or have a seizure while she sang. She did some remarkable things as a kid and now, she's basically good singer who can pick up a mic and cover any song with the same exact style. She'd be great to watch at a karaoke bar. Not much beyond that. That's all you'll get from me and I'm sorry if that bothers you. Let me give you a little wake up as to why youtubers lose their mind over her. 1. They know she has a ravenous fan base that will give them an immediate sub boost. 2. She's one of the rare artists that don't have copyright claims on their videos but still get a lot of views. This means they can actually make a decent amount of money by acting completely awestruck. Full disclosure. Every CH video I have watched, was a result of being given a scary amount of money through PayPal. So who knows how much these folks are getting. Not saying it's their only motivation, but it certainly plays a part. Maybe they really like her. Who knows. Personally, I don't care about money with this channel, so I don't mind being honest. There is truly nothing remarkable happening here. From what I hear, her producer actually wrote the song. But aside from that, it sounds like thousands of other female sung ballads. Again, that just may be me. I'm very used to some insane talent out there in both song writing and technical abilities and I simply don't see it here.

@History Buff So from this more revealing commentary, I see your take is that Courtney is an average karaoke singer, which means you expect no standout career in the offing. While I disagree with that assessment, as obviously do others many of whom also are musicians, only time will tell. I do agree that a lot of reactors exaggerate for gain, so their responses are mostly just useful in helping to boost Courtney. That being said, you are certainly welcome to your opinion, and I have mine, which is very much in favor of Courtney being far above your rating. I am also a musician, old enough to have seen Elvis and most of the greats live (missed the Beatles regrettably), and I see the unique qualities developing in Courtney that make her very different from, and in many ways better than, today's popular stars. Contrary to what you may have heard, well known songwriter and producer Kevin Bowe, both publicly and privately, has said Courtney was equal to him on this song and more to follow, especially regarding the lyrics. He has said he's learned as much from her as vice versa. His emphatic view: she's a "KILLER" (his caps) on stage and when she gets there, it will be "all over". Pardon me if I give much more credence to a professional's assessment--one who has worked intimately with Courtney--than to any KZbin reactor. Finally, I have way overresponded here, but that's because you present as a critic with some gravitas, being neither a troll or Courtney sycophant. I was mostly disappointed with your reaction seemingly supporting, apparently falsely, an improved view of Courtney being belied by this lengthy and very telling reply to Monarch (who, by the way, is an 80 year old connoisseur, observer and collector of virtually all the works of great performers from Elvis to the present). So that changes my view of your reaction and your opinion, which is based on very little exposure to Courtney's work. BTW, most of us also have seen lots of "insane talent out there" and do see it in Courtney.
@HistoryBuff Жыл бұрын
Hey Rick, I really appreciate your very thorough, respectful and well-rounded response. Maybe this isn't the greatest venue, but maybe you can hit me up on Instagram and we can discuss further. The info should be in my channel info. Honestly, I don't use it much, so I'm not too savvy with it, but I've chatted with quite a few on there. I have a theory about 3 similar artists who (or I should say, their fan base) really rub me the wrong way to the point of animosity. I know there are a ton of reactors who feel the same way, even many who claim to say they're the greatest thing to ever happen to music. I could never do that, though, personally.

Y'all better get ready, you're going to be hearing a LOT from Angelina Jordan, Courtney Hadwin, and Daneliya Tuleshova. I swear I believe those three are going to 'own' the Billboard Hot 100 for the next couple decades starting in a year or two, each in their own lane, though with interesting possibilities for collaborations amongst them for duets and even trios. They each have different tastes, yet amazing vocal control, breathing, tone, etc. Leaders in music for GenZ.

@givingin2G4Courtz Жыл бұрын
@johndreessen7335 may I respectfully suggest checking her other new original songs? Each is very different style than the other, IMO. 'Call Me Back' is a mournful ballad that will, I'm quite sure, tear your heart out, like it did most everyone so far. 'That Girl Don't Live Here' is a more jazzy sassy song. She sings surprisingly differently on different kinds of songs, crossing and mixing genres in her own way. And her funky blues rock (she hasn't yet released more than snippets of that kind of original) and R&B (ditto) are awesome, as we know from covers on The Voice Kids UK and AGT, and again are different stylistically from this song (IMO). Some fans have complained that she doesn't stay in one 'groove' or subgenre from song to song, which I like. She is NEVER boring, IMHO. Unlike MOST pop stars of past couple of decades. YMMV. I made a 'Sampler' playlist of select YT Shorts she's posted, to try to highlight just how diverse her songs and singing style can be from song to song. She's really quite exceptional in how diverse her style can be, song-to-song, depending upon context (and, I suspect, her mood). I always recognize her voice, but I can't bet on her style from new song to new song (or for Shorts, from snippet to snippet).

Not familiar with dark soul videos, don't play computer games, and to each his/her own, but I thought this video was beautifully crafted and fit the song perfectly. I guess it depends on one's mood, preferences and expectations.
@@ouioui_lounge Perhaps this also fits a video game, but I'm going with the other commentors who find it quite a good music video on its own.

Spiritbox, JINJER metal band/singer video shooting, many of them have much bigger fan bases than Courtney for sure, but I prefer "Cover Session" all-age all-genre shooting, just let the lead singer take the spotlight. "ABBA - Fernando (Official Music Video)" demonstrates how to do a good shooting even around the campfire.
