Personally, when he hits those high head notes in the beginning when saying "j'aimerais mieux être un oiseau" and "si jamais c'était plus beau", I don't see any high pitch there or any "effortlessness", what I do see is only BEAUTY and heavenliness

If you like a song with a historic background, I recommend Dimash - Samaltau | 2021. It is a Kazakh folk song depicting a very dark time in the country’s history. It is a lament, so high soaring notes would not be appropriate for this song. In 1916, after taking their livestock to feed its army and imposing impossible taxes on starving Kazakh and Kyrgyz peasants who lived in serfdom to Russia, Emperor Nickolas II ordered the conscription of Kazakh and Kyrgyz Muslim men age 19 - 43 into the Russian military for service on the Eastern Front during World War I. Used as human shields and treated inhumanely, this led to resistance. However, the resistance was unorganized and Russia responded with brutal force. Hundreds of thousands Kyrgyz and Kazaks died in the ensuing rebellion and tens of thousands more fled to China. The song is the story of a young man conscripted by Tsarist Russia to fight in World War 1. Torn away from his family by force - just listen to the kobyz: you can hear the wolves lonesome howling in the mountain passes, you can hear the wailing of the women of the village as their sons, husbands, brothers and fathers are dragged away, you see the heartblood of the people running down the instrument - the young man stumbles towards the war front, leaving his beloved homeland and his mother and father behind. For a Kazakh man, for whom caring for his elderly parents is a sacred duty, this is heartbreaking. The line “like a herd of lost horses” encapsulates the depth of displacement and hopelessness this young man feels. Dimash has strong bonds to his family and his homeland and you can hear in his voice how deeply he connects to the heartbreak of this young Kazakh conscript and the collective pain of his People. It moves me to tears every time I hear it.

Don't care about the "wrong song" comment. I think there is no right or wrong way to react to an artist and especially not with Dimash, every song represents a point in his career and it's not wrong to react to it. Many Dears think there is a correct order of songs usually starting with SOS but I find it refreshing when people find other songs as an entrance to him.

Two other must see singers are Zhou Shen and Hua Chenyu from China. Zhou Shen has a high, feminine voice that often got him bullied in school. If his classmate only could have seen the talent in that voice. As an introduction into Zhou "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye". For something different from him, watch his version of "Ring the Doorbell" and "Da La Beng Ba". His biggest success is the song "Big Fish". Another singer that is highly rated is Hua Chenyu. One never knows what one will get with a Hua Chenyu song since he mixes genres and composes many of his own songs. He is an epic stage performer spilling his emotions into the audience so they can share in those emotions. He is also a master are redeveloping cover songs into his unique perspective. I have a recommendation list, but it is not really in any particular order. "Nunchucks", "Child", I am what I am", "Fake Monk", "Friend", and "Dad, I'm Home".

Thank you for your reaction to SOS! It is a cover of a song from the French-Canadian rock-opera "Starmania" from the 70's, but it became a staple song for Dimash, his most popular song. He sings it at all his concerts, and there is always something different. It was also the song, which made him a star overnight in China, where he took part in the "I Am a Singer" competition for accomplished singers in 2017. Most reactors start with SOS, probably that's why you've got some comments about "Olimpico". I think both songs are spectacular and showcase Dimash's mastery, so it doesn't matter which you've heard first.

Hey you’re awesome & im so glad you’re on this journey!! You still haven’t seen his range it just keeps going. Just FYI his most popular performance is SOS performed on the Singer. I prefer it bc this is almost so polished & that one I feel more raw emotion from him. He was unknown in China & came on as a wildcard to this competition which was all famous Chinese stars.. & then him. He was called to sing 1st. If u see it, the crowd cheers excitedly in support for this new wildcard, but they didn’t know him (they’d never had foreigners on the show before him). Apparently a day after the episode aired over 600 million people had viewed his performance & he needed bodyguards for the fans overnight. This song is perfect, and the Singer version is special & perfect too haha. So hope u watch sometime. Plus Dimash is awesome for comparing performances of same song, amazing how he can change the feel or mood. He’s more vulnerable in the Singer version. That’s what it is for me I think. No there isn't really a wrong song to react to. People usually start with requesting songs that are easy for people to get hooked on. With reactors, you have the fear that if their first impressions are not good or the first song didn't hit their mark, then they will never react to that artist again. This is very frustrating when you know the artist has more to offer, and you know they most likely just need a different kind of song to hook them. This is also why there is usually somewhat of an order with which songs get requested first. With Dimash; S.O.S, Opera 2, and Sinful Passion are often used as introductions because they are so obviously impressive in skill while also being easy on the ears for first-timers. But you obviously could appreciate and liked the last Dimash song, and didn't give any indication of not liking him. So don't know why people felt the need to tell you it was the "wrong song" when it simply was not.

The Slavic bazaar or the Slavinski bazaar is held every year in Belarus Minsk and Dimash won it in 2015 and it put him on a map that he was not already on. He returned in 2018 as a guest performer and that’s what you just witnessed. He also returned last weekend as a jury member to judge young men and young women from many different countries who came to compete for the title of 2021 winner. A 22-year-old girl from Kazakhstan won this year. She was a clear winner throughout the contest. In the fans opinion, SOS and sinful passion are considered his cream of the crop songs but with a cherry on top as all of his songs should be considered cream of the crop. He has rarely failed to stun his audiences. Slavinski bizarre 2021 performances by Dimash are already downloaded to his YT channel. Good luck with future reactions. 😜

Dimash has lots of colors but a bit less darker. Tho I do wanna say again u prob would like the Singer SOS version. But if u want the meatier vocals vs ballads (though you’re missing out not seeing them all)- Check Queen’s The Show Must Go On, Passione, Mademoiselle Hyde, Know (white suit), Adagio (the Singer competition)… those all have dark, beastly vocals throughout
