As Ulysses S. Grant and the Army of the Potomac swung east, a troop build up began near a location called Cold Harbor. To the north of Cold Harbor was the Bethesda Church. Jubal Early's troops engaged with those under Gouverneur K. Warren around the church.

Great vid as always sir. I've just finished reading Régis de Trobriand’s (unfortunately edited) memoirs. He seemed like a decent officier, but of course i only have his side of the story for now. Would you by any chance have sources who could provide a second opinion ? 😊

It was over for the Confederates at this point. They could no longer defend and win on Virginia soil. They had lost the west a while back and Sherman was making Georgia Howl during this same time. Their only hope had been to prolong the war long enough for the North to sue for peace and that dream was long gone by this point as well.
