You may not know this but Gary Tangeman and I put this together. We did at least a half dozen historical dioramas. Gary painted each figure and arranged the landscapes and figure positionings. I did all of the lighting, photography and post production editing with his moment by moment consultations. These were wonderful endeavors. Glad to see he is getting tens of thousands of views. Pretty awesome...looks like a hell of a lot of work. But there weren't any sabers with Custer that day, they were left behind at the Powder River Depot, except for Mathey's (he was with the pack train) and DeRudio's (with Reno).

Hey Retriever 19 Golden, I'm sure the Diorama Builder was Aware of that Small Detail, of no Saber's by the 7th Cavalry Troopers n Officer's included. But when Aquiring the Sm Scale Figures for the Diorama. I don't believe He had much Choice in that Regard too Accuracy. So your Sarcasm & Petty remarks are Noticed, but they really aren't Polite, or Necessarily needed. So as we use too say PUAR. abbreviation for (Piss, Up,A,Rope)you SH.

Custer had two wounds, one in his chest, the other to his temple. The Indians claim Custer was either killed or mortally wounded out the beginning of the battle trying to cross the river. This might explain why the commanders of each company, C, E, F, I And L were found around Custer and not with their respective companies on the battlefield. It might also give account for why the Indians said the soldiers argues amongst themselves. They may have argued over whether they should retreat to save themselves or proceed into the village to support Reno's attack from the south. You have to remember that we know something Custer's men did not and that is Reno's charge failed and he retreated. Had Custer's men known that, they too may have retreated to save themselves. For a good read, read the book "Soldiers falling in to camp" by Lakota author Joe Marshall.

Custer had wooden spikes hammered into his ears and an actual arrow rammed up in his penis. Almost all soldiers were stripped of all clothing, bludgeoned, some had their skulls smashed in, hands and feet severed and sliced down their chests, stomachs and/or thighs.

If one is going to be historically accurate then it should show Custer's men killing innocent Indian women and children who were washing clothes in the river at the beginning of the fight.
@retriever19golden553 жыл бұрын
Most historians that really study the battle think those casualties were actually the work of the Crow scouts. The Crows/Arikaras and the Sioux/Cheyenne were deadly enemies.

Here I am? Trying too write ✍️✍️ in this Comment what I'm thinking? To Start I was completely Shocked 😳😳 by the Realistic Realism that this Small Scale? Diorama was able too Convey & the Choice of Music 🎵🎶 along with it. Made it even Better. IN watching that Shortened Presentation, Video. I couldn't help but imagine? All the Time?, Thinking 🤔,Frustrating fowl up's, plus the Mahticulious, & Painstaking Fine Painting, and the Mental Effort. That went into the Creation of that Diorama. IT had too of Taken, and Encumbranced Hundreds of Hours,& Year's too do it that Fantasticlly, & Accurately. The thing is a Masterpiece No Doubt about that. Also the Figures are Truly Remarkable? IN how the Creator has shown them in Thier Variety of Pose's, Whether on Foot, or on Horseback, Standing, Kneeling, being Clubbed, or any Other way? In which they are Being Assaulted & Killed by the Definitely Enraged, Hostiles. OMFG the thing is a Marvel even in the Three and a Half to Four Minutes. In which they Fly over & Around the Thing with the Camera, just during the Video alone? For Myself? I know that if I ever had the Opportunity too View it in Person. IT would Take A Good Hour of My Time. Just too Clarify, Inform, and Briefly introduce Myself to it's Display in Front of Me. Where ever it might be I Saw it? This I'm saying because? As a Young Adolescent, then into My mid Teens. I had a Very Intense Love for Military Small Scale, Replica Reenactments, and Playing War Game's. As Mentioned before My Parent's did not Hold or Appreciate, My Fascination with this Pastime of Mine. Therefore I gave it Up, and never really thought of it afterwards. Now decades Later, I'm Seeing the End result's. Of what some Very Talented, People have Created & also Ensured will be Remembered for Eternity? By just the Examples, they have Painstakingly Created in Thier Lifetime's Alone. Mind You? I'm not Thinking 🤔 or even Saying, that I could of Created something so Facenatting, Fantastic, or even Close too that Accurate. If I had continued My Pleasant Hobby, of Childhood, into My Adulthood? But Who knows what would of become of it? Or even of Me? Thank You so much for Sharing this Fantastic Creation with me. IT was Truly Marvelous too View.

Lets see, they carried no sabers, the cavalry were not issued the blue tunic in 1876, they bought civilian shirts. Most soldiers wore either straw hats or slouch felt hats. Other than that not bad at all. That one indian horse looked like Pokey of gumby fame.

Custer was offered Gatling guns by other cavalry regiment but as the noisy swords he refuse to take them to hurry. he just wanted to fight the indians at first before Crook and Terry columns.The three columns of troops would have gathered from three directions against the indians...
@TWS-pd5dc5 жыл бұрын
@@hamadouchealain5017 Swords were useless in fighting Plains Indians by then, as attacking warriors rarely got within striking distance of a sword. Looked good in Hollywood movies but not in real life.

Flintlock Homestead Picky, picky, picky! Should I pick apart your grammar and punctuation? How about appreciating the months of hard work that went into creating an awesome diorama for others to enjoy? The creator is working with plastic figures; they are not real. I would simply call it "artistic license." I think it's one of the best dioramas of this scale that I have ever seen. Thank you HistoryMadeSmall.
@johnadams32543 жыл бұрын
@@Sayven1 I think you miss the point. The diorama loses something when looked at through the eyes of a knowledgeable viewer. These errors could have been avoided with a little more research and obtaining input from someone who is an authority. The picturing of sabers in the battle is a big error. The wrong type and style of flags is too. In addition, the river next to the village is flowing the wrong way and the cavalry’s rifles are wrong along with many other minor details. What is obviously a great effort by the creator is reduced to something less than it could have been with just a little more thought and effort by him. Also, your snipe at author of the critical statement is a cheap shot and non sequitur.
