So. Always You. There's a lot to say about song and the album it's from, Rise Up. This is gonna be a long post, especially since I've been working on it for a while, but this is important information to understanding the absolute impact this song had on the fandom. Crazy Sexy Cool came out in November 2017, ASTRO was reaching peak views and fans and it looked like everything was going to start going really well for them. However, in December 2017 the CEO of Fantagio (their company) was dismissed from his position by JC Group, a Chinese shareholder (their largest shareholder) and it was announced that the Chinese co-CEO Wei Jie would become the sole CEO of Fantagio. There were unfair transfers and terminations amongst staff and the staff demanded that the previous CEO be reinstated or they would go on strike. Artists within the company expressed interest in leaving and the company went through background checks that might prove they were an illegitimate company without proper certification for board members. Stocks fell fast and April 2018 cane around fast with no news about ASTRO besides if they posted anything. No one said anything and fans started to leave as they grew bored with no immediate comeback. July 8, 2018, coming up on 8 months after their last comeback, and 6 months after the last thing posted on ASTRO's official Instagram, a post wuth the caption "ASTRO AIRLINE - NEW DESTINATION 'AROHA' 2018.07.24". The people that were still active in the fandom were FREAKING THE FUCK OUT (me included lol). ASTRO were confirmed to have a comeback, and even though it would only be a "special mini album" AROHAs were just so happy to have them back, even though our fandom had shrunk a lot. Now, I wanna share the lyrics and explain to you how each line relates more to their fans than any lover/significant other/girl, like some people have assumed. Basically the lyrics are about how hurt and sad and scared ASTRO were being away from their fans, not know what was gonna happen (if the company would fall under and they'd have to disband or if there would be any fans left when they returned) It was so hard Before I could stand before you I shed tears out of fear That we won’t see each other anymore Do you remember that last day? Your warm smile Remained in my heart, it left feelings behind And kept circling my mind (Recalling the last stage where they were able to see fans looking at them so happily and how it stuck with them) With the faith of you waiting for me Though it was hard, I swallowed my tears and went to you You told me not to worry no matter what happens (They had faith that fans would stay and that heled them push forward and not give uo hope. Fans always told them not to worry so they trusted in them) Are you still there? In these times that were hard to endure Even if I fall countless times I’ll get up again and go to you Though I’m late, I came to you (Calling out and asking if any fans are still around. Apologizing for taking to long but promising that they're finally back after they endured everything) In the end, it’s you I missed you I wasn’t ok (Expressing how they just didn feel ok not being with fans or being able to update them, meet them, or anything really) My heart ached because I couldn’t hold you So I looked for you I waited for you, tears are coming The one I love is you (They waited for so long and were so hurt that they couldn'tbe their for AROHAs when everyone was scared) I’m alright even if things are hard It was too much to endure alone, I need you, I’m afraid I’m alright though I was alone But if you disappear, I can’t endure alone (Even when things were hard, they had to move forward, even if they felt like they were alone. But if the fans were to leave, the wouldn't be able to hold themselves together out of fear) I know you’ve waited for me too My heart ached because we couldn’t touch Words I couldn’t tell you Kept lingering in my mouth (More apologies for not being able to talk with fans as much as they used to. They wanted to meet us and have everything be ok) Yes, I didn’t forget, I’m standing here Quietly, holding it in Is this our destiny? Are you still there? (They wouldn't forget about us as it was destiny that we met and it's destiny that we were able to meet again) Now I’m finally telling you That it was you since the beginning Call me once more, hold me once more If it’s not you, you know I can’t be complete (If it's not for AROHAs, they aren't whole. But now they could finally tell us how they felt when they were forced to be away and how they're more sure than ever about what we mean to them) In the end, it’s you I missed you I wasn’t ok (it hurts) (im fucking crying) My heart ached because I couldn’t hold you So I looked for you I waited for you, tears are coming The one I love is you (Re-affirmation that the fans are the ones who they love and miss) You wouldn't believe how much I tear up EVERY TIME I read the lyrics for every song on their album. It hurt a lot not knowing what would happen to them and after Rise Up, they showed us how much happier they were and it really hit home. HOWEVER! Rise Up was, again, an unpromoted "Special Album". Only people who were still active in the fandom knew of/cared about the release pretty much. It was sad because it really did prove to then that fans left them and moved on to other groups. Also it sucked because that meant there was gonna a whole 13 month hiatus between Crazy Sexy Cool and All Night. And now All Night happenedin January and fans were getting scared that we were gonna have to wait another 13 months to see them again, but Moonbin promised recently that they were having a comeback before the end of the year plus we have their Twitter account and individual Instagram accounts to refer to if were worried or nervous. Everything seems to be going fine now, this was just the long story of a group on the verge of disbandment and always on the verge of another long hiatus. Their company sucks but all we can do is just continue to support and appreciate them. The Rise Up album just means a lot to AROHAs that have been here since the early eras. My favorite song from it is Real Love (a VERY interesting song musically and a VERY uwu sobg lyric-wise) and their song Call Out from this album has it's own M/V filmed by ASTRO (which you can see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKqVmJWerd59fNU ). Also, Call Out really is the BEST concert song with the way it's formatted lol

yes. it was never promoted as this album was a gift to AROHAs :) they are, i guess, the first group to ever do that. that instead of a normal comeback, they chose to dedicate this whole album as a symbol of making peace w AROHAs. like, apologizing for something they didnt even want to happen. the whole album really screams how they love AROHAs so so sooo much.

this song came out after over a year of no music from astro, AROHA feared that they may disband. so they wrote this song as a message to us, the lyrics such as “even though i cried i came back to you” etc are about how despite their pain of not knowing their future they still came to AROHA and gave us some content, it’s so meaningful and my favorite astro song 🥺❤️

Hey Ben, did anyone let you know that this song and the lyrics and in actual fact the entire album Rise Up was dedicated to Aroha, their fans, to apologise to us and talk about what they went through during their 14 month hiatus when their company went through disaster and there was radio silence for like 5 or 6 months where no one knew what was going on and no one heard from any of them and everyone thought they were gonna disband and then they came back with this song, no promotions or anything, just to tell aroha that no matter what they will always be by our side (which also happens to be another song on that album) 🙂💔🙃💔🙂💔🙃💔🙂💔🙃💔 so like 10/10 recommend you back and watching it/ reading the lyrics again but with this in mind... also highly recommend 3 tubs of ice cream and a carton or 18 of tissues... Esta canción es parte del mini álbum especial Rise Up y casi todas las canciones tienen colaboración de los miembros de ASTRO, de hecho la canción By Your Side la escribieron ellos. En todas las canciones muestran ese sentimiento de tristeza que tenían al no saber si seguirían como grupo y si podrían ver a sus fans de nuevo (AROHAS) , ya que desde finales del 2017 hasta mediados del 2018, su agencia presentó serios problemas legales debido a la compra de acciones por parte de empresas Chinas y despido de los CEO coreanos.
