The Ds1 was used heavily on Bleach it was also used on Nevermind but he used the Pro Co Rat Turbo Distorion on Territorial Pissings and he used the Big Muff on Breed. He switched to the Ds2 mid 92’ and used it for the Nevermind tour. He also switched to the Sansamp classic on In Utero he had the Ds2 and Sansamp classic for the In Utero tour don’t know why he had the both of them but that’s what he used

Fender is reissuing the Jagstang. Nirvana usually tuned down a half step or drop D-flat, but for their first album they forgot they already did that, and they tuned down another half step, so the entire Bleach album is all in D (or drop C) tuning.

I tend to do an up-stroke when plucking the A string on this riff. I don’t have a Strat or Mustang, or indeed a single coil pickup, so I have to make due. It just feels more natural to me and I try to replicate the sound I’m hearing on the album.
