If Hit could last longer, he could've beaten Jiren. Everyone forgets Hit ability to instantly adapt and evolve his fighting ability after figuring out how to beat someone. That's how he was able to beat Goku. But Jiren overpowered him right out the gate vs Goku playing with his food.

Hit was only able to adapt and evolve by that much because he himself didn’t realize he was actually capable of doing it at first. He stated that he had no reason to therefore he didn’t even try. It’s like how a weight lifter suddenly realizes he could do much more weight than what they first thought. After that, it was simply honing his newfound power to the limit. While he did manage to improve his control and probably gotten even stronger, it was simply not enough to beat Jiren as Jiren has been training for much longer. Jiren is one of the only few characters that we have seen and confirmed outside of the Gods and Angels to have almost or complete optimized Ki usage which has been VERY emphasized to be important in a fight, so considering that Hit managed to tank his attacks… Hit is by far one of the most talented mortal fighters to participate in the tournament. However he will need MUCH MORE than a few minutes to overcome Jiren. That goes without saying, Goku is MC and a Saiyan so he gets a free pass in this regard.

UI Sign Goku was literally more impressive than anything Hit did. 3. He didn't meditate to recover, he meditated because he was like "y'all can't beat me anyway so I don't need to try." Literally was never implied at any point that it had anything to do with Hit. 4. The reason he charged Jiren was BECAUSE he couldn't buy himself any more time. That was the point. He knew his power couldn't outlast Jiren's so he tried to finish him but got blocked. I'm not saying Hit was unimpressive because he did do pretty well considering he's a lot weaker than Jiren, but this just feels like glazing and ignoring what actually happened.

Hits time skip ability has been explained by vados and that "he creates a pocket space to go in and out of and appears somewhere else in time" his time skip is limited by "space" and "ability activation" if a fighter like Goku powered up enough and charged hit giving him zero time to adapt he will lose instantly, his speed before the ToP in the manga barely put his level of power above ssg Goku (Goku in his god form was shown to be able to swap with hit in the manga). Goku once in SSB he folds hit easily.

He wasn’t close to beating him! But considering no UI? I’d say he’s more than shown his skills and ability and just how far it can go. There is no doubt hit is 1 of the strongest in the entire tournament! Because he learned how he fought and made his plan and how it could work? That takes a true warrior to consider those factors while fighting someone so far above his level. Hit might have 1 if he had help because that was a perfect strategy.

What i dont understand is that when Hit first fought goku, hit was adapting and getting stronger or getting at the same level as gokus kaioken x10 really fast. Why didn't he do that when he was fighting Jiren?

He DID. That's literally where Time Prison came from, it was an evolved version of Time Skip that Hit gained by him adapting to Jiren's movements. It just means that Jiren is just that much stronger than Hit. Also, Hit probably would've finished him if Jiren didn't block his attack.

@@dwayneb1047 capabilities to adapt with opponent's power level. The same reason why Vegeta and Goku's Kaioken got handled pretty well though they were stronger. What I'm saying is jiren handled him like nothing, hit couldn't land him a single punch...

@@dvsnow210 This wasn’t just a matter of being able to adapt to Jiren’s powerlevel. Jiren’s optimized usage of his Ki is what allowed him to absolutely dominate in every battle and gave him the edge in this fight. Also don’t forget how Jiren himself can adapt very fast as well mid-fight.
