You left out the capping off of the EFI electronic steps/items: capping off of injector and full pump wires terminals with blanking plugs provided with the kit, and removing the MAP sensor from the original throttle body. BTW, great "build" with the after market improvements. This is the first I've heard of the tubeless wheels, which I think I wanna get eventually. Thanks!

I was wandering if this a fully mechanical conversion or is it still electronic cuz you didn't changed the magnet and ecu unit .... Also if you are seeing this comment plz reply cuz i need more help regarding my royal enfield bullet 500 conversion

I didn’t touch the ECU other than install and O2 sensor delete (resistor).

Sir i am doing a conversion in my bullet 500 2021 and the stock carb feels very detuned and there is no power in that setup . While researching on the topic i found with some of the good performance based carbs but i am confused which one to chose Nibbi performance Mikuni cv 32 Mikuni vm 32 Mikuni tm 32 I want you to pls suggest me a good carb which can give me good performance, better low end and mid range torque and power also better fuel economy ... My main confusion is to chose btw cv and tm Waiting for your opinion,sir ...

Not a bad install.

I see that most sites (Hitchcocks and others) state that the carb kits are for only up to 2021. Did you have any issues related to that? They mention specifically the location of the ecu being under the seat.

No issue at all other than needing to relocate the voltage regulator/rectifier. Thanks for watching. I unfortunately lost a lot of the video from this install. GoPros only let you down when you need them to work.

Seems like the efi on a himalayan is a little screwy. Within 10k miles went through a fuel pump and several relays. I think this is the way to go.

The carb setup has been bulletproof. No regrets.

So is this a 2022 model bike ? Im looking at a nice 2022 but from what ive seen FI is way to lean so if some one can verifi carb kit will work on a us 2022 im going to try the bike out
@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC3 ай бұрын
Yes it’s a 2022. I had to relocate the regulator but other than that it fits perfectly.

@@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC actually the bike was a 2021 so after riding it around i like the way it runs I am at sea level here in Alabama I do want to do the cam and wondering if I can do the pro x tuner or would i be better off to just do the carb swap what's your opinion and the big bore kit is going to happen little later also do you know if race tech would be the way to go for suspension since you've installed there kit performance wise thankyou you for your reply its very helpful to get your thoughts oh yea where did you order your wheels from . I'm may need to just give you my ph. # got a lot of question lol Thankyou very much .

The suspension upgrades were well worth it since I was bottoming all the time on single track stuff. The tubeless tires might not have been worth it. I think you are better off just buying good Excel Rims and having someone relace them (if you cant) and running tubes. I feel the whole tubeless thing is overrated on bikes used more in the dirt. If you ride mostly on the street then yeah its a decent investment. As far as big bore kits and cams, If you think you need more power you're better off selling the bike and buying something else. Almost any other bike of 300+ccs from Japan is better off road and performance wise. The Himalayan is a great bike but its over weight and way under powered and nothing is going to change that. Since buying my used KLX400 I haven't even ridden my Himalayan. Its better at everything and was cheaper to boot.

My efi system took a crap. Bike isn’t currently running, can’t figure out what the issue is. Seems to be running incredibly rich now, check engine light is on, lots of popping on decelerating when it was running. Looking into the carb swap to simplify the bike and eventually the big bore kit. Were there any carb adjustments needed after the install?
@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC Жыл бұрын
I basically set the idle mixture adjustment screw where the instructions said, pulled out the choke and it started right up. After it warmed up I adjusted the idle speed screw (not the same screw as mixture) to 1250 rpm and I haven’t touched it since. :-)

Thank you, I just finished my carb install. Runs beautifully now, much smoother throttle response, noticed there’s a bit more power and revs left at the top when cruising around 65-70 mph. I set the mixture screw at 2 turns per the instructions and set the idle to 1250 as well. My bike doesn’t have an exhaust or hi flow air filter yet, I’ve noticed the exhaust is popping now on decel, tho the bike is running better than ever. Did this happen with yours as well? I feel I may need to tweak the fuel mixture screw a bit more. Any input is appreciated, just learning about carbs and wrenching on my bike. Thank you
@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC Жыл бұрын
@@JamesJohnson-ov5ct Yeah the bike runs better in all aspects. The good part is it’s still running perfect 4000 miles later. I think I ended up with the idle mixture screw at about 2.5 turns.

Do you know the part number for the carburettor adaptor/boot/manifold??,..
@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC Жыл бұрын
No I have no idea, it was all in the kit. Hitchcocks might know though. They replay to emails within 24 hours usually.

Hi whats the improvement in replacing the fi with the carb?
@MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC2 жыл бұрын
Not having to rely on that sketchy RE fuel injection. Also much better fueling which gives it better off idle power and more midrange. Cooler cylinder head temps and no more cold start problems. I'm doing a big bore kit and cam this winter so I basically have complete control over the fueling now. Its pretty crazy how much better this bike runs with a carburetor.

Man, from now on I'm just going immediately to Rumble for ANY kind of "how to" video. The censorship rules here on KZbin have gotten to be absolutely ridiculous. First you can't show someone inserting a magazine into a rifle and now you can't show the actual carb swap in a video entitled "Hitchcock's Carb Install on 2022 Royal Enfield Himalayan.|

Yeap the Go Pro ate half of my video. Ive been using an iphone since but the audio is not all that great. Need to buy a proper cam for making these videos.
