Hitchcocks LED Tail Light | First in India | Interceptor 650

I've been trying to search for a good LED tail light for my INTERCEPTOR 650 for months now. And finally, I found this gorgeous tail light from ‪@HitchcocksMotorcycles‬ . The unit is a direct bolt on fit. Like most of their parts. Which I what I really liked. I've seen a lot of videos on KZbin where people just drill holes in their tail light setup. To me, that is a horrible thing to do to your motorcycle.
WHY?
a) It increases the chances of rain and dirt seeping in.
b) That is awful and I will never get why people do that.
LEDs are bright and greatly increases the visibility on road.
Again, with the price and customs duty, I understand that to some this might be on the pricey side, but it's the price of convenience.

Your video was so well presented! I would like to know if you had to find some R.E. type electrical connectors, as I don't think that they come with the Hitchcock's tail light.

Thank you for watching the video! The tail light comes equipped with the plug and the wire, hence it is easier to connect it. But incase you are installing a different tail light, you will need RE thimbles. Which is easy to find at any local RE mechanic. They’ll remove the thimbles from an unused or a wrecked motorcycle and give it to you. Pretty cheap arrangement. Hope this helps. :)

They don’t make that anymore. They make the one which you will have to splice with the existing cables to make it work. I have a spare too. The unit had only two led light malfunctioning. Rest all leds work great. Bright as ever. So I had it replaced under warranty. Thanks to my OCD.

New Himalayan does not have a slot to install a tail light. The tail light is integrated onto the indicators. So this will not fit.

You can always go to a local service center and ask them for a thimble. And connect it to the wire from the one you’ll get from their website. The plug and play one might have been discontinued.

If you mean the exhaust pipes, then nope. They are still shiny/ chrome-y looking.

It is hassle free indeed. The people over @HitchcocksM are very helpful. And yep it does. Depends on how much you spend on it and what is there on the invoice. This one had a duty of INR 1363.

@@saicharant523The only mod you'll have to do is procure thimbles from a scrapped Enfield indicator. As they are not included in this. It's relatively cheaper to do this. Just go to any mechanic that services/ repairs Royal Enfield motorcycles they will be happy to help you. After that, you will need additional washers from any local hardware store to make the fit perfect. Use 14 mm spanner to tighten the nut after.

With the current item you’d have to splice wires etc and then with the customs, they don’t even check the bill and apply cost by weighing it. I had this light, but unfortunately it was a defected piece. So I asked for a replacement. I was not charged for the shipping or the item. It was £0. But still I was charged the same amount for customs. (2,200₹) so ended up paying more. Kismat meri.

@@SrinivasGanesh That had to hurt. 2200 because someone or something got missed at quality control/check. I first thought of getting Baak Taillamp assembly. But it's too costly just for the product if you add the Motogadget indicators. Shipping customs extra. Looking at K-Speed right now. I'm more into the round Taillamp look. This one that you got however does look great though. Not to mention, huge improvement over the stock ones. That tail section was the first thing I wanted to change after getting the bike.

@@WobbleToyz Oh yes louder. And it's not just about the loudness, there are emission norms as well. When you get the PUC done it will never be under control, and you'll have to pay a fine of INR 160 every time you get it checked.

@@arjungangadhar6134 Plus drilling hole means 100% chance of more dust and rain water seeping in. And that's something which I'd happily avoid!
