I have e66 2008 750li with SOS bmw assist system malfunction and had no info to the right side on the radio FM,AM,ETC..., no sound and most of the things on the idrive did not work. Also the front speakers had static coming out like they are on and I think gps unit in the trunk was kind turning and turning. So I got one of the Fiber Optic Optical Loop Bypass Female Adapter and I have started in the trunk with the Satellite turner module , I disconnected the cable and had red blink light, so I connect the loop cable and while I started the car , I had all working again FM,AM,ETC all except for the Satellite radio not working anymore, So my question is is that what the problem I had? by looping the Sat receiver is this where my problem is? Hello, If any of the fiber optic line at the trunk is broken/cut, and let’s say from gps module, can I still use the bypass kit to have the system run normally without the gps module evethou the fiber optic line is broken?

Thanks for the information. These videos are awesome. Especially becauseI just purchased a 06 750li and my DVD changer makes noise but does not release the disk drive. The same thing with the navigation system in the trunk it took the Navi disk and dont do anything. Any suggestion? I will try the process for the static in my passenger front speakers.

Cd changer needs to get repaired or replaced. For navigation, push and hold the eject button a little longer or unplug it and plug it back in.

Display unit and ASK unit are generators. Order of the fiber optics not always the same, remove all and find out.

At first I wasn’t getting any sound and the display inside was not showing any stations. I tested the signal from the fiber cable inside the glove box as well as my navigation system in the trunk area. Both areas gave me a blinking signal. However, when I plugged in the lollipop fiber optic bypass into the satellite tuner, the radio began working, and I could see the stations and change the stations again. The audio began working too but there was some static and the sound kept breaking up. I never tested the Logic 7 Amp because my original issue was no sound and no radio channels. So now I’m curious what the issue could be. Do you have any suggestions what to do next or what the issue(s) may be? I appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks

Hello, we have a 2012 X3 and we checked all the optics and all working fine , what else could be the cause of having no sound ? Checked all components as well , main unit , amplifier , we tested all speakers ... everything seams to work except the sound

Very very helpful video, I have a weird issue, all units are generating light so there is no MOST ring break, the problem is I have no radio station, cd and cdc are grayed out and when I inset cd in ask unit it tries to read it then goes back to FM, when I turn the volume all the way up I hear hissing, what could be the issue? @@himalionel775 You need to find out and let me know. Leave the key in the ignition while the driver door is open, you should hear the door chime. If there is no door chime, bypass the amplifier in the trunk and check again.

If sub woofers are working intermittently then the small amplifier could be faulty. You could buy it on Ebay, search by the part number off the amplifier sticker.

Video was great. I checked all my module and they all have the blinking light. When I try to bypass the AMFm Turner in the rear with the optic wire there wasnt any sound. when I hooked it back up to the AFM Turner then there was sound. the issue is that the front left speaker and the rear right speaker is working but none of the other speakers are. What could be causing this.

@@HiTechElectronic ok i tried that the ampthat is their apparently it's been replaced because it's not that long big logic 7 amp it's a shorter smaller one when I bypass that everything cut off then I plugged it back in tried bypassing the other stuff that was back to the GPS navigation all that and subs came back on randomly like yesterday and the day before for the first 5 minutes of driving my right side door speakers will work but the subs won't in the left side won't and then after about 5 minutes those shut off in my subs come back on

Also, make sure there is at least one DVD disc inside the player. To check the player, try a music disc instead, it might play music disc but not the DVD, that means the laser pick up needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the Tutorial. Great Job. The Radio in my 2006 BMW 750i does not produce any sound nor display the radio channels as well as navigation. I tried your test without the fiber optic Jumper by unplugging and plugging back each Module's fiber optic cable one at a time to check if signal is transferring. Apparently everything seems to work fine as signal is passed from one module to the other as indicated with the Red blinking light. However i noticed there is no red blinking light in the fiber optic cable in the glove box of which you said it is possible the ASK system is bad. I bought another one and still no changes. Can this be an issue with a fuse at the back? I have tried everything else but don't know where else to check again. Please HELP...
