my radio unit does the same. the problem that the AGW and the Radio draining the battery, i took out fuse 6 in the trunk and fuse 26 near the driver side. does it worth to buy the bypass lollipop and give it a try, or need to replace the AGW. Thank you.

Hi this is a great video. My CLK350 comand when turned on will show MB logo forever never turn off but nothing else works. i tried to update the NAV but after that. nothing works but the MB logo. May I used the roof ( back ) antenna to connect to the satelite radio? the antenna is the small black stick in the back. I think this was used for the tele Aid ( not installed in my car) Also I'd like to know where I can get the cable terminal , ( what side of the vehicle) I saw like a double connection in the left back close the the fuses. thank you !

I tried searching for my problem here but didnt find any answer - My 219 Cls with PremiumAudio(HarmanKardon) should have the option for SurrroundSound/Logic7 music modes, but it lacks it. Only the fader and balance, bass and treble can be controlled from Comand. Do you know if that could be a problem with Audio Gateway, or more likely to be Comand's problem? Hi, thanks for the video, very eye opening. I'd like to ask what I think is very important regarding the modules that connect to the radio in the cockpit. Are the fibre optic cables navigation, audio gateway, voice module, etc multi-mode or single-mode? I'm asking because I removed the Bluetooth dongle from inside my armrest compartment to free up space for my actual phone, and that caused the radio to stop working. I'm just wondering if I can splice the in and out cables to close the loop. Thanks.

hello grate video you covered every thing clear thank you. my 2009 e350 was setting like one year i had to replace the battery now the radio comes on and of when on i can not control any of the knobs like it is stuck on one station sounds like am. some times it would works every thing is good but then it goes back to am radio- oh and some times the radio goes it turns its self on wit no key in the ignition. i am hopping you familiar with some thing like this - any help would be wonderful .my name is peter

2009 model has totally different sound system. You need to have your command unit repaired or replaced.

Thank you. The video is very helpful. I have a 2007 ML350 with Harmon Kardon upgraded sound system. When I turn on the care, everything works, but after a minute or two the sound cuts off. I have tried replacing the Amp and the Audio Gateway under the seat with used ones I found I found on eBay, but the issue could not be fixed and I have tested the Command unit and that is fine as well. I did not however use a scanner to reset things after the installation of these components. Do I need to do that before these parts start working or could the issue be something else I am missing. Check to see if the car is equipped with a satellite tuner module, if it does have one, bypass it and hopefully it would fix the issue.

Hello awesome video. My car is a 2009 e350. I have the same issue as you described and the difference with mine is that I have radio sound. The logo comes on and disappears after about a minute and sound cuts off. None of the steering wheel buttons work for the radio. I have ordered a bypass loop and haven’t received it yet. If sound comes on, the comand unit is probably still good correct? According to your video, if I have sound my audio gateway is still good?

Hey guys, I've had a 2008 Mercedes Benz E350 for 2 years now. The Harmon kardon Logic7 sounded amazing. Until one day my CD changer stopped working while I had CDs inside . I've been reading forums and some people said to remove the fuse for AGW, the CD changer and the radio. I followed the steps took the fuses out, put them back, and at the end the CD changer started working again. But ever since I removed the fuses and put them back into place, my sound has not been the same. I used to get powerful bass from the front speakers, and the subwoofer , and an awesome clear surround sound experience. So much question is do I have to go into engineering mode to get the sound back, or what do I have to do to get the sound? Because I believe that after removing the fuses I must've messed up a component in the radio system that has to be readjusted. I still get sound, but it's not the same as it used to be before I removed the fuses. Sometimes I try, and I put the bass to maximum, and nothing happens. Guys please help me.

You could bypass voice module if your car has one. Otherwise you need to replace the audio gateway and find out because you can't bypass the audio gateway.

Hello HiTech, My wifes 06 ML350 has the nav command radio. My problem is the mercedes logo comes up and never goes away. The radio will play the last station tuned into and volume level works. But the radio will not change any stations as only Benz logo remains. It does not go to sleep, just stays on one station and is locked up. Maybe nav system is faulty as yours in the video. (HiTechs reply), The problem is the command unit and most of the time is caused by the navigation drive which is inside the command unit. (My issue), Hi, I have a 2009 E350. The radio started the intermittent on/off. I have audio and it can be adjusted up/down but cannot change station or bring up nav/cd. Mercedes Logo remains on entire time until radio turns off by itself then back on. Cycle repeats. Can you help? Thanks.

CLK320 2004 does not have Gateway. Most likely the problem could be a bad amplifier or CD Changer. You are welcome to send both of them in for a free evaluation.

Hello, my comand unit NTG1 does not start when i push the Power button. Sometimes it does, but most times not. Most times, I would pull out FUSE 26 from the Radio Unit, and it would start. Now, even if I do that, it still wont start. I have bypassed the Navigation unit and the Tele-aid in the trunk, and still does not start. I suspected the AGW but after seeing your video, and listening, I think for sure it's the comand unit. PS: I don't have CD changer. Any sugestions?

If there is no Mercedes Logo when you power up the command unit then the command unit needs to be repaired or replaced..

Hi, Great video!! I have the W211 E55 AMG. I have the same symptoms like in the video. Comand turns on with logo then switches off. If I disconnect the battery in the boot, sometimes 2 hours and even sometimes for one minute, when i reconnect the battery the comand works properly. But when I switch off the ignition for a couple of minutes then turn the ignition back on, the comand doesn't work and does the logo again. I'm in Australia and I was wondering if my symptoms give you any idea whats wrong before I go to mercedes who want 500 dollars just to look at it. It's funny how it works after disconnecting reconnecting battery then dies after ignition turned off. Any ideas?

The Audi Gate Way could be the issue but you need to bypass the other components one at a time and find out.

It ended up being the TV tuner at fault. Since the tuner is an analog one and we now only have digital TV rendering another original replacement tuner useless, we bypassed the tv tuner and now the rest of the system works.

Purchased tele aid and audio gateway module..the orange sticker says "once installed this control module contains vehicle specific data.installation in another vehicle is strictly prohibited .please refer to service literature for proper service and replacement procedure" which is for the tele aid module.the module was pulled from another car same year same engine .when I purchased the car it didn't come with books or service manual ..

There is a very slight chance that the command unit is bad. Most likely one of the component in the trunk is bad or it could be the CD Changer as well. Also the CD changer cover won't open until the problem is fixed.

My 2005 e200 has sound for a while and after 15 minutes the speakers begin playing soke metal , screeching sound. Hard to explain. What could be the cause?

where is that cable for that bypass to mount at a mercedes ml 320 of 2007 because have the same problem and is identical the same radio. have taken apart all the back upholstery and see so no system

My 2008 GL450 has radio static like blown speakers for about 5 minutes then clears up and sounds perfect CD and satellite radio sound fine all the time do you know what the problem is I changed the amp under the driver's seat same issue no one seems to know the issue

Hello, I have a 2008 ML550 and the center screen and it's accompanying buttons have recently become unresponsive. None of the buttons work, besides the power button. The screen does show the screen, however it's only stuck to whatever I'm looking at, as I cannot change the source due to the buttons. Any suggestions on how to fix?

The command unit is faulty. You need to have it replaced or send your to us for repair.

I have a 2005 E500, after a dead battety and some moisture in the trunk. My radio stays on but no sound. It's stuck on the logo. It does not turn off. I checked all fuses and tried re-setting but no luck. You have any idea what could be the issue? The radio/nav worked fine before the battery went dead. I also noticed the unit where the navigation cd goes. The lights are flashing.

@@HiTechElectronic so I got the tool and checked the nav module and cd changer up front and still the same. Radio turns on then shuts off. I did notice that my 5 amp fuse number 85 keeps blowing out. Am I missing something here?

Thank you for sharing this video . I have e320cdi 2004 model. It has identical COMAND as in this video. Only when driving around it stops music or phone with an electrical beep for a few seconds then comes back on. Drives me crazy. Anyone have the same problem?

Yes, ive been dealing with this problem for over 2 years now. Its a high pitched beep and sometimes it doesnt beep but cuts out for like 2 seconds. Mine does it close to every one minute. Im geussing it has something to do with teleaid trying to send my location out and it failing but thats just a geuss. I have a 2006 e350 with the same type of command unit. Have you found out what the issue was?

@@RyLokey Hi thanks for the reply. I never took the car to be fixed. Just lived with the same problem for over 6 years. Then suddenly last year about April it stopped and has never given me a problem again! I don't know what fixed it.

@@Geodickerson Unfortunately I never did. I just put up with it for 9 years! Then one day it just started playing ok and never broke down for almost 2 years until 10 month ago it stopped altogether.

@@antoniocalabresi You need to bypass the components in the trunk one by and and also the CD changer in the dash board, if still have the issue then most likely the problem could be the Audio Gateway module in the trunk or it is missing 12 volts power. You are welcome to send your Audio Gateway to us get bench tested.

My 2002 s430 radio display is not working. The radio and all the functions work fine but no display. I can listen to the radio and changes station but the display is black. Any suggestions?

Either the LCD is bad or the circuit board behind it. You need to have your radio replaced or repaired.
