I’m a 3rd year computer engineering student. CPP was my first programming language and it helped me in learning a lot of core fundamental concepts of programming, it wasn’t certainly easy but I had to drop this language in my second year just because it was very unpopular. I was sad but while learning about web dev especially node js (which is also written in cpp) I came across this language again and this year I’m using it as embedded programming language for hardware development. I don’t understand why people don’t give this language a shot. Yes python, JavaScript and other languages are great and super useful but this language opens a whole new side of programming that I can’t explain in this comment box. Great video 👍🏽 PS: I would choose this language any day over the assembly lol.

I think the major part for this problem comes from C++ having way too much freedom, its great where you can do whatever you want in your project however you want, thats where C++ shines, but for beginners they might feel lost. In other languages, community generally agrees with doing things in a particular way for most of the basic things. But in C++ its different for almost every one even something basic as building the final executable or adding different libraries into their projects, people like to do it in their own way, and they most certainly should according to their preferences. I think this adds friction while building projects in C++ for beginners compared to other languages. Where people like coding in C++ but not building in it.

This, exact video. Coding culture in college very pronounced in India but coding just means doing CP for the sole purpose of getting job in big tech companies. Completely defeats the purpose. I was introduced to C++ in a similar fashion. Major impact of this is prevention from learning concepts of programming itself. And then when people get into big tech corp they get introduced to sweet sweet layer of abstraction which is great unless you have to fix some critical bug with one of the packages you are using.
@ImadEddineLaggoune6 ай бұрын
The problem in my opinion isn’t that C++ doesn’t or can’t solve problems, but rather who want to use it to solve the problem. It seems JS is taking the lead for basically everything, C++ only remained to be used in high performance settings, or embedded systems. And I am talking from the perspective of someone who has been searching for a C++ programming job for a while, they are basically very rare when compared to JS, and even the ones that exist will ask for a “Senior Developer” with +sizeof(char) of experience.
@junaidsiddiqui5140 Жыл бұрын
Hey Hitesh, I am C++ enthusiast too and I used to think the same as you do - like I did development with C++ for 2 years (Qt Framework, OpenGL, Boost and Unreal Engine). But when I got to know about the jobs available, C++ as a requirement was a minority. Also the available jobs have low to average packages (3-8 LPA) but the workload and complexity of codebase is high. On top of that, most jobs available are from companies which still work on legacy code. So at the end of day, how is someone supposed to stay motivated towards C++ development? (P.S. I do know that Senior Cpp Devs get paid well... but so does any other senior developer) Note: I love C++ a lot but at the end of day, money matters.

When KZbinr's and people say one language is better over another language without comparing them quantitatively, rather give their opinions, you know it has been created to jump on the viral video and trend bandwagon. JS, Python, C++ are mere tools for solving a problem, and all of them have their pros and cons. You wouldn't use a screwdriver to hammer a nail in a wall. Can aa screwdriver be used to hammer a nail in a wall? Absolutely, why not, but a hammer would make the task a lot easier and simpler. If you need to process a bunch of CSV files to do a simple analysis of tabular data, you can use C++, but it takes a lot of time and effort to write that code, instead you can use Python. Right tool for the right job. When people start to understand this concept, they would not be fighting silly wars in comments.

FYI, MS Word doesn't mean to just use C++, they also use C with an extend. To be fair, Microsoft version of C++ isn't the same as ISO standard C++. In fact, MS C++ is quite easier to understand than the ISO version. Honestly, seeing C++, I'd say, it's an ugly and messy language. It got OOP but have backwards compatibility with procedural C. It's also very disgusting that C++ forces you to specify prototypes where C doesn't. C++ is worthless in some point where performance is same in other languages, where in C++ you've either do a gunshot on foot to hack it to meet as expected performance. Rust is far more better than C++. C++ doesn't even have any type safe stuff, and in contrast C++ standards are the worse mess you can see when you seriously play with this.

You have no idea about C++/C; C++ made by mathematicians; for CS.

because they are so much mad behind faang things, you rarely see any good open source lib or framework are making by Indians ,but u will surely find lot of repository where Indians(not all but many) are fixing some typos only.This is sad

tldr; I will learn whatever gets me a job easiest For getting a job we need two things, Projects and DSA. I would choose JS, python or even Java any day of the year for making projects compared to Cpp. And for DSA, C++ is an easy choice because it's taught in college, it's fast and has a large community in CP. Why SHOULD I choose to learn cpp frameworks? It's much more difficult, it has less job opportunities compared to JS and Python and a lot less tutorials on YT. Many devs like me are only here for money and don't have as much passion for programming. Why should I care what frameworks are there for cpp if it's not used in getting me a job.

"Why SHOULD I choose to learn cpp frameworks?" exploring, most of the time cpp used in low level like kernels and game engines. You might learn more about how system and os works.
