Setting up Above link as the environmental variable of windows will make it global and just typing mongo will run the mongoDB server everytime without running it like this .Set Environment like this Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Setting -> Environmental Variables -> In system variables select Path and edit button at bottom click on new and paste the link and save. Just type mongo in cmd to run it anytime.

Note: Put bin folder location in environment variable (Don't put mongo.exe) Example: C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.4\bin (Replace 4.4 with your current version of mongoDB) By just typing mongo in command prompt, you will be able to use mongo in CLI.

Sir i have a question and that is Mongo db is a database server right ? so do i need to install a Apache server separately to run my php script ? or mongo dp has a pre installed service same as Xampp ?

Sir i've been watching your videos from a while on mongoDB and i was thinking to use multiple database providers in my project like firebase, parse server, mongoDB.... To make it cost effective... Is it a good practice? Because firebase data storage is free upto a threshold and rest also have some similar conditions. If i distribute my data then it will be great . By the way thank you for all of your contributions i learned a lot from you..

No need to always remember to paste that long "C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.0\bin\mongo.exe" Instead Add it into your Environmental Variables Path. Just like this guys: 1. Search for "edit the system environment variables" on your windows. 2. Click on the Environment Variables button at the bottom last of the opened window. 3. Double click the Path and Click on New to add a new Variable. 4. Paste "C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.0\bin" in there and click OK till all windows are closed. 5. Then open your CMD and now type "mongo" alone. Voila you done!! :)

I have just installed MongoDB(4.4.1). It looked like installation was stuck at "Installating MongoDB Compass... (this may take a few minutes)" It took almost ~35 mins for completing installation, meanwhile i was in little worry searching on internet what to do!!! But, do not worry about this if you face the same, it was an issue in earlier versions and seems to be fixed.

​@@mohammedahtesham2021 I too had googled for this details before installation, but couldn't find much. Actually, it is not much of a big software. that .exe file was around ~250MB, after instillation, it took around ~800MB disk space. coming to the RAM, it should work pretty well on 4GB, but mine is 8GB. I would suggest separate compass installation when needed.

Solved. Created "DB" folder in the created "DATA" folder then it worked. :)

create a folder "db" inside "data" folder inside C: It should look like this "C:\data\db". Open cmd. type "mongod" press enter. keep it open. Now open another cmd and type "mongo" press enter. IT will run as expected
