What Judge did is not cheating, even if he was sign stealing the rule only applies to sign stealing while using tools (cameras, phones, Apple Watches, trash cans etc). Many players do this in the league because somebody on the team has an eagle eye. Few pitchers/catchers have even said that if the other team steals their signals without equipment it just means they aren’t doing a good enough job at hiding their signals

Exactly. It's smart to get an edge on the pitcher's intent, be it via sign stealing with the naked eye or pitch-tipping; just not while using technology to do so (cough HOUSTON ASTERISKS cough). This is probably why so many clubs have elected to use pitch-com so there's no sign involved; just someone talking to the pitcher, catcher, middle infielders, and centerfielder.

Cork doesnt actually make the ball fly further, rather the opposite, as the bat becomes softer and absorbs more of the ball's impact. The opposite of this is seen with aluminum bats. Here's the deal with the astros and sign stealing in general. Sign stealing is 'legal' without the aid of technology. The Astros obviously used technology in 2017 with the cameras but at the end of the day, it's not that big of a deal with MLB. The Red Sox also had the same thing going on in 2018, but less sophisticated. Baseball has adjusted the rules by allowing technology with the pitchers and catchers to correct the temptation. As for the buzzer thing, MLB found NO EVIDENCE of anything. The fact that Altuve went to change probably had something to do with the fact he had his shirt ripped off the last time and didn't want it damaged. Nice rant on the Astros but remember, this is baseball, and with millions on the line there will always be cheating from every team. It helps by making the tip of the bat lighter so you can move the bat more easily. It doesn't even add power. In fact you are losing power by taking weight out of the bat. If you hit the ball further using a corked bat that likley just means you connected with ball ball better on impact. Also we are talking a difference in weight of about one ounce and bats weigh 34-36 ounces.

Judge actually talked about his "scandal" and was confused when people asked about it but then he realized what they're talking about and said that he looked over quick to the dugout because there was some chirping coming about calls the umpire was making and that he was looking to see who was doing it because he thought it was uncalled for a given that they were had six-nothing... I tend to believe it because look how often he hits Homer's without cheating so why would he just randomly cheat this one time

Looking at the catcher is not illegal. There is no rule in baseball that prohibits the hitter from looking at the catcher in any way. The batter is free of looking at the catcher the way he wants to and whenever he wants to and as long as he wants to.

First video.... Who cares where the batter is looking before he swings. if the other team is TOO dumb to hide their calls from sight or obscure them from the batter seeing them, they absolutely deserve to have their calls decrypted and used against them. That's like being in a fight and yelling 'FLANK ATTACK!' before attacking their flank and complaining they somehow cheated to prevent it. That is not cheating whatsoever. That is exploiting the other dugouts stupidity.

Reggie Stocker was actually Bonds fault. He’s not part of the MLBPA, because of his greed and refused to use his likeness. He’s always been excluded from mainline mlb games except for one or two. Steroids have nothing to do with his exclusion.

McGuire & Sosa each hitting more than 60 homers in the same season after 30 years of Babes record? Yeah, o.k. The only REAL records came from real legends. I quit on baseball back in 94' / 95' and haven't watched a game since. Not saying everyone was on the up and up, but we all know the real deal, and if you don't, that tells me you think wrestling is real, rather than entertainment. Owners had to get back all the attendance they had lost after that strike, so they all turned a blind eye while quite a few turned to the "juice", and all the other antics of corking bats along with numerous other ways to cheat. The biggest thing the fans really want to see is the long ball, hence, my feelings. Now, baseball is merely a circus of frauds (but not all).
@Landrew1980 Жыл бұрын
IMO, MLB turned a blind eye to steroids because of the 94-95 strike. Home runs are exciting to fans...

he was only on pace for roughly 655-670 home runs for his career until he started juicing so if that doesn’t tell you anything idk what does, dude was a lock for the hall before he juiced but insured that his legacy and HOF eligibility was tainted. he simply wanted to make himself the best of all time. from 86’-98’ he hit 411 home runs but from 99’-07’ he hit 351 home runs, so in an 8 year stretch he hit only 60 less home runs than he did in a 13 year stretch.
