Speer would NEVER have tried to eliminate Hitler - because Speer's position within the Nazi hierarchy was entirely dependent on his personal relationship with Hitler. The other Nazi leaders disliked, distrusted - even hated, him & he would have sunk without trace without the support of Hitler, whatever Speer's genius at armaments production. Speer would have been insane to take that risk - for little or no gain to himself.

You assume these people were rational in these last hours. Speer was a master of deceit, and managed to convince the Nurmburg court he deserved to live. If he could have killed Hitler, he probably could have conned his way into a tolerable situation when Germany fell,

Yet, another on Bormann, Goring, Speer and Goebbels (the poisonous dwarf). Always new actors. For Adolf, just put a square mustache on anyone, and they're Hitler.
