What a great history what a beautyful and sad story. But more a dream we can cling to. Jesse Owens.

This reminds me of the Brian Williams episode. Owen's creates the story and believes it.

Malcolm, I’m sometimes annoyed by.what I imagine to be your ego.,. Yet, I’ve listened to at least a dozen. I’ll probably listen to a dozen more. This one about Jesse Owens takes the cake. I’m a small town, white southerner. Attended all white private schools, went to college in Memphis right after Dr. King was assassinated. I never knew this back story about Mr. Owens. I always believed he secretly approved of the protest. I have to give you grudging credit. You deserve to bask in whatever praise this generates. It’s a really good yarn,. I suppose it validates why you got into Harvard. Your parents did. As good a job as possible, teaching you to maximise potentially.

Disappointed that M Gladwell did not narrate this one. It's like hearing a story from someone else's grandpa. It's not the same.
