If you compare it to the games, the prior film featured a bad Stealth gamer trying and failing the stealth aspect before resorting to all out violence and the 2015 film is just a COD Prestige Expert who just assumed it was an action game the whole time. Fun action setpieces regardless but the gore is such a downgrade and it hardly ever feels tense with how easily everyone is dispatched with gunkata flair. Hell, the "Elite" mooks might as well just be water balloons lol

That whole scene with the tethers was dumb. That the stormtroopers or whatever they are used them as ziplines, making themselves sitting ducks makes me wonder what the writers were thinking.

On the rooftop, 47 and Katia mop up the rest of the Syndicate's troops, but not before Le Clerq escapes in a helicopter with Litvenko. In mid-air, he detonates the inhaler, killing himself and the director then he calls her and confirms his first target has been eliminated. When she asks about the second target, he drops his phone off the side of the building. As the two prepare to leave, they are confronted by Agent 48, an exact look-alike of him who tells them before they fire. In the mid-credits scene, Smith is shown to be still alive.

Don't get me wrong, the kills and crashes are great but I feel like I'm watching a Jason Bourne or Deadpool film. Isn't Hitman about, erm, hitmen? Assassins who are only good at what they do because they are never caught in a gunfight and kill their targets in secret? Best I got from this one is that technology is beyond terrifying when used to hurt people.
