Back on the first film Venom was selfish. He only protects Eddie because he's a perfect host and if he dies, Venom dies too. In Let There Be Carnage, Venom's relationship with Eddie developed even more, he thinks at Eddie more of a bestfriend rather than a hostage. That motorcycle scene on Venom 2 would be a great example, he understands emotional pain and it cannot be healed instantly like any physical wounds, it was like Venom knows death is not the answer to solve Eddie's depression after he finds out Anne was getting married.

@@yuro5833 Personally from a story aspect I think Carnage has so much more potential. He creates a dilemma for Venom (or at least in other interpretations he has). It's been symbotie vs Eddie Brock. Venom 2: let there be carnage IMO, was a really fun movie to watch. However, I felt the 104 mins of run time a good bit. The pacing wasn’t the best, and the biggest gripe I had with Carnage is that his kills felt too “clean” expect for one kill. Cletus as an absolute crazy mad serial killer, the movies makers for some reason kept this movie at PG-13 which affected the movie’s feel a good bit. Idk why people complained so damn much about this movie, it was a TON of fun to watch! I actually saw it in theaters twice (took my friend to see it, had just as much fun the second time). I love how it just jumps full on into the humor and insanity that made the first one so entertaining, and I really enjoyed the further development of Eddie and Venom’s relationship. Idk why people are so bothered by Carnage not being violent enough, I thought the backstory animation was a clever way to portray violence in a disturbing and visually interesting way without pushing the censorship rating too high. Besides, the reason it’s animated and not actually shown is because it’s Cletus telling the story, and he’s an unreliable narrator. I think it’s clear Cletus was meant to be kind of parodying the serial killer characters media has gotten oversaturated by, and it was done in a pretty fun way. It’s understandable to want a darker, more serious version of Carnage, but really there was no way anything in this movie was going to be serious, and I definitely feel this version was still entertaining. I also honestly think the animation on the symbiotes looks great, not always perfect but it’s not easy to make cool looking fight scenes for cgi goo and I think they pulled it off pretty well. Also the sound design is FANTASTIC, Carnage’s screams sounded amazing in theaters. Sure, this movie isn’t fine art or anything, but it also knows exactly what it is and does an excellent job of being it. I give it 10 burnt breakfasts out of 10.

@engelberthovel85662 жыл бұрын
@@troymcclure681 Honestly I understand why people would be upset-the source material would be fantastic for a grittier, more serious film and I hope one day something like that does get adapted. However, I still think that the current Venom movies are really very fun if you don’t associate them with your own expectations of Venom and just experience them as their own thing. It’s also fine if the comedy isn’t your style, I just personally had a great time watching the movie so I think it did a good job at being what it was trying to be. Also, although I agree that “funny antihero” is hardly what people expect when they think of Venom, it isn’t exactly inaccurate since it’s a fairly good adaptation of the Lethal Protector comics. Really, although there’s a lot of other great things these movies could have been, and I don’t blame people for mourning the loss of those possibilities, I still think they’re fun and creative enough that they shouldn’t be as hated as they are.

Not a bad movie. Nothing amazing, but still nothing awful. I hear lots of folks say that this movie is extremely rushed. I don't entirely disagree with that, but i think the fast paced story works for a movie like Venom 2. It doesn't overstay it's welcome, and knows when to end. I really liked all of the silly and goofy stuff they had. This movie has more fun with itself than the first Venom did. The entire cast seems like they're having fun, and i think that really shines through in some parts of the movie. The comedy probably isn't for everyone, which is understandable. I think Carnage was a slight missed opportunity. Fans have waited years for him to show up in a movie, and now that we finally have him in one, it feels a little underwhelming. There was definitely more potential for Carnage's character, but it is what it is. It didn't take away from the movie much. Just an after-thought. All in all, a fun movie to kill an hour and a half.

Venom: Let There Be CARNAGE is the most absurd and silly film I’ve ever seen. You get a good amount of Carnage, you love Venom even more because of how amazing it is. The Car-Nado had me straight up laughing maniacally in the theater, I was chuckling like Cassidy himself, enjoying every second of my horrified and entertained grin. Venom 1 was an absolute goof of a movie for how much of a serious disaster it was. The sequel made the goofy the purpose. Venom makes an entire scene long “coming out as” joke! I was thoroughly entertained, it was so bright and pretty it was so funny and enjoyable. I loved the old married couple idea, which is what makes his Venom distinct. Topher Graces Venom, I love him he’s my childhood, but he is just a base villain, Hardy makes Venom a huge joke. They’re always looked at as this giant Edgelord villain, so this series makes this so edgy it’s silly villain into a straight up silly hero, he’s pure entertainment in its purest form. I still feel the weight and power of Venom and Carnage, I feel the grin on my face widen and my eyes glimmer in the theater. I feel so happy when I’m watching this movie. It’s an amazing film compared to Venom 1, but not because the writing is deep and emotional, but because it’s silly intentionally. It’s so beautiful. Venom is amazing. Venom: Let There Be CARNAGE is an amazing Film. It’s an amazing cape flick. It’s all I wanna see when it comes to a silly movie. Hardy is still having fun at all times, he has a personality and I just love this movie.

I think this movie really understood its task well. They knew we came for Eddie-Venom comedy and dynamic and punches between them and Carnage/Cletus. So, they wasted no time on science and explaining everything. They knew it would all still come off as dumb, so why bother explaining? Just cut the middle man. Also, they didn't want to overly flesh Cletus out. They did mention his childhood trauma and all that, but at the end of the day, he's just insane, and that's enough. Having another by-the-books poor villain who was traumatised in childhood into becoming evil has become such a tired trope lately. This is a dumb, but fun action comedy. So, cut all the exposition that would slow the pace and cut the fleshing out that would ruin the comedy for no good higher reason. It's standing perfectly at just over an hour and a half. Yes, it's dumb and silly, but it's gorgeous, action packed and funny as fuck. I had a really good time.

It’s shlock and I was entertained, but I still feel like we really missed the chance of having a more horror-esque comic book movie. Plus, I feel like Carnage isn’t really Carnage. It’s not just because of the PG-13 rating, but how the symbiote is portrayed. Like, Kletus and Carnage should be so in-sync with each other that they say “I” instead of “We”, instead of clearly having different goals and views. And this might be a nitpick, but the voice bothers me. It’s too deep and doesn’t sound unhinged enough. They couldn’t even add a laugh when he’s killing people.
@zackv48503 жыл бұрын
Didn’t like the movie that much. To be fair I’m not a huge fan of camp, I just find it cringe. I know others like it I just don’t. But god I HATED how they did carnage in this! Like!!! How far does the MCU’s addiction to sympathetic villains go?! Kletus is meant to be the “worst case” of venom. What if the symbiote bonded with the worst person imaginable. Carnage doesn’t go on and on about his back story, his whole poor him shlock. He kills because that’s what he does. It’s what he’s on this earth to do. He is evil for evils sake. He’s not “a scared little boy who just wanted a family”. He’s a sadistic, masochistic, mass murderer, who was bonded with something just as twisted and ten times more powerful than venom.
@kingbash64663 жыл бұрын
@@zackv4850 I don’t mind camp. In fact, I adore it, which is why I love films like Braindead and Slither. But I do feel like those films have tighter plots and have characters you care about or at least remember; plus the violence in those movies are spectacular to this day. The Venom series is really only held up by the titular character, which is nice, but it doesn’t look so great when almost every other aspect is rather lackluster. Seriously, the Carnage prison break scene would have hit so much harder if we saw how dangerous Carnage could be under R-rated violence.

I realise that the they are both literally some of the worst Comic book movies ever created but they are literally the some of the most fun I’ve ever had watching a CBM. Venom 2 literally just improved everything that made venom 1 good while just keeping everything else at the same level. The complaint about not enough Venom can’t be made this movie since he probably so much screen time and probably more lines then Eddie. Every single sentence he spoke was golden and even though he wasn’t violent enough, carnage was so much fun to finally see on the big screen and so was Cletus to watch just be clinically insane. As a movie 4/10 As a joyride 9/10 I realise it’s a pandemic and there isn’t enough financial reason to do so but I wish it was much more violent and Carnage just went around brutally and viscerally murdering people for fun, that would have made it a 10/10 for me.

So many say that a "fun" movie is a bad movie, that calling it "fun" essentially means that it's a bad movie. That's so far from the truth. Sometimes I hate sitting down to watch a serious movie, and as it was mentioned in the video a few times, the "fun" movies are sometimes the best. I came out of Venom 2 not with a large life lesson to learn or excitement for a sequel, but rather pure enjoyment from the movie. I was able to say, "That was a really fun movie," and then just go about my day, and that's a great feeling.

I think that modern comic book films overcorrected. There was a time when films based on comics weren't taken seriously at all, were seen as something for kids or at least goofy, and we wanted somebody to show the genre's potential and take it seriously, goddamnit. Well, Nolan did just that and he changed the game forever. And it was all wonderful, except everyone then tried copying his approach. So we went from all the comics based films being goofy to all of them being rather dark, gritty and often even self-important. Nuance was lost either way. So it's incredibly refreshing to see a film that does things differently and taps into all the weirdness, creativity and sheer fun.
@parkerboy7953 жыл бұрын
@@qwertyCandy I don't think that's fully right. While Nolan helped start the trend of serious and at times philosophical comic book movies, there were movies like Blade, X-Men, and Spider-Man before it that reestablished comic book movies as serious movies after mishandles from the 90s like Batman & Robin and Spawn. Then later on, we got certain Marvel and DC movies that knew how to handle the absurdity of their comic roots while presenting them in a way that could attract people that aren't fans and convince everyone to roll with it.
