I wasn't sure about this - it could have been major cringey - but very well executed.

I really appreciate that!. I totally understand what you mean about the cringe factor. It can happen very easily in films like this, even with a lot of work!

Intriquing concept! It’s ballsy, but well executed (mind the puns). Great performance from the actress! (Christian Sheppard?) I think the relevancy is what makes the piece hit hard (Dang it! Another pun) as there is likely, albeit a much more deadly, hidden gathering of guys who just want to hit their female victim somewhere out there. But in any case, it’s a neat idea for an action thriller that overall was well done! I like the orange color filter and sharpening. And the final low angle shot on the girl with the dust around her head was really cool! Some great technical and narrative work! A couple of notes: 1) Was the dialogue re-dubbed? Because all of the dialogue sounded like the actors were talking directly into a microphone and it didn’t totally sound like the voices were in the space. 2) The punching and the gun firing sounds should have been MUCH stronger, especially the punching sounds, which were light and almost comical sounding. And there is A LOT you can do for impactful gun sounds. There are plenty of strong gun sound assets online and you can play with the levels in your editor. Maybe it all sounds differently on a computer and with headphones? I watched this on my TV. :) ANYWAY, with my technical notes made, this was a cool piece! I’m an indie filmmaker myself with previous production education and work experience and I’ve been working on a few short films over the past year. So I’m in the same indie filmmaking boat you are. I just wanted to leave my feedback. Take as much or as little of it as you want. :) Keep making things!

I really appreciate the review! I follow your channel as well. I agree, Christian did a great job. None of us are "real" actors, we just love it and immerse ourselves, but she was a natural, and slipped easily and convincingly into the role. 1) I did re-do the dialog for the biker guy who ran the gathering (me). And although I tried to re-create the recording set up, (with a boom mic and such) it wasn't perfect. This film is a few years old, and I overhauled it for my re- release, but I only spent a few days on it. The rest of the actors were all their on set performance. 2) I know what you mean about the punching sounds, they were from film riot's fighting sound effects, which is a great pack. I actually toned down the first punch's impact to try to make it less Hollywood and maybe a bit more real. My sound was running though a stereo system most of the time, so the sound probably did have more "punch" on my system than on my TV. My color grade got a pretty major overhaul from the original release in 2017 because the walls in the place we filmed were pretty bland. The new color grade really did help with the backgrounds and just to make the film feel a little more dingy and nasty. :) Thanks again for the feedback, it's a great way for us indie filmmakers to get better and see our films through multiple sets of eyes! I have some more content about this film coming out soon, like behind the scenes and bloopers and stuff.
