He is still pretty strong. 405 is heavy period. I’ve done 405 and it was heavy as fuck. I had done 385 the two days before I did 405. My girl at the time Katelyn spotted me on 385 cause I got 365 easy and 375 easy then I did 385 pretty easy but like you could tell it was heavy. So I wait a few days and go back in to see my brother cause he worked out there also just at a different time (he went during the day and I went in the middle of the night) so I was feeling strong and told him I wanted him to spot me on 405. So I warm up a little and I should have warmed up more but I didn’t but I got up to 405 and hit it for one rep! Best day ever

If over all you're just trying to get stronger for example would it be counter intuitive at all or maybe sending your body mixed signals to do heavy-weight low-rep sets at the beginning of the workout then light-weight high-rep sets at the end like this??
@edmonddontez82027 жыл бұрын
I'd like to know this as well
@Blitzkrieg123497 жыл бұрын
Not counter intuitive at all. When you do heavy sets for strength, it’s working out more of your nervous system than the actual muscles involved. But when you do higher reps (hypertrophy) you’re working the muscle itself to grow and force blood in.
@23BEATNGU7 жыл бұрын
yeah I understand that and you're probably correct, but if you're trying to temporarily just focus on one, like me with strength at the moment, would it diminish your progress at all?
@skitstroppo7 жыл бұрын
To also train hypertrophically? No. As long as you put enough time on strength training, to do hypertrophic work won't diminish anything, only add to your strength.

Johnny Cage Make sure you're giving your chest proper recovery time; only lift one to two times a week, depending on your body type. Eat a shit ton and get good sleep.

Drink an entire protein shake after every set of bench and you'll be good
@bolobuddy227 жыл бұрын
Spencer Grady lmao he should be lifting like 3-4 times a week as a novice. the morphs aka somatotypes are also bullshit
@spencergrady45757 жыл бұрын
Buddy Adams ...you're telling him to lift chest 3-4 times a week? Right.. and body types and predispositions are extremely useful at the starting level. I agree that at a certain point not so much, but there are far too many examples of great trainers and athletes following it to be complete bullshit, they just shouldn't be followed as closely as some do. Based on your first response, I'm guess you'll want to come back with a side response, filled with 'lol's or 'lmao's, maybe an insult and some sarcasm sprinkled in. If you'd like to have an actual discussion, maybe give reason as to why I'm wrong instead of just saying 'lmao bullshit'. ☺️
@bolobuddy227 жыл бұрын
Spencer Grady i'm saying as a complete novice you should train full body strength and hypertrophy style 3-4 times a week for maximal gains. each muscle group should be hit at least twice a week for optimal growth, also, 'slow' and 'fast' metabolisms have been proven wrong, so therefore the somatotypes are bullshit and only are useful for assessing someone's bone structure and height. everyone's BMR is different, not metabolism.
