@@pallingtontheshrike6374 I agree but caution is advised: soon after you hit critical mass: the motherships will erase the entire formation with their AOE ability... Cyclones are not a 'surefire' way to win but will hold the motherships back for several waves (probably 5 or more will erase the cyclones regardless) Don't forget the upgrade deals powerful DoT to single targets, not a powerful upfront nuke.

I tried this strategy after I watched the video and I wound up with a 3 Alarack team vs. a 3 Alarack team and we all went for motherships ;)

after we all realised what was happening we switched out to other things pretty quick (like void rays) but there were 3-4 on the screen almost at all times

This strat is crazy in the Weekly Brawl right now ^^ We just had a game where ALL 3 of our players went for it. We ended the game with 3 Motherships each ^^ (Yes we survived just barely due to all the buildings ^^ )

hyperion stacks with other waves very well and does damage over time. It is quite bad alone. However, motherships can be alone and still push across the field with relative ease.

That first game the push back wave that the enemy had actually helped you a lot by pushing your motherships back off the front line and allowing your allies' units to take their place and tank for them. lol

I came across this strat in game yesterday. I stacked dehakas flying banelings against them and they did reasonably well. Unfortunatly a team mate rquit and eventually we got overwhelmed by his other team mates. It is a fun strat though, takes a fair bit to counter too especially if you don't expect it. :D

It makes more sense to go for gases first and then upgrade tier so that you have an income advantage earlier

I honestly thought this was going to be a garbage strat, but it gets out fast enough (assuming you don't get a 3rd gas if they rush) fast enough that you don't lose to rushes. And rushes would consist of lots of weak units, which would get slaughtered by the mothership ability. The only counterplay to mothership + havoc range would be mirage I think. And if only one commander can beat it, that makes it too strong. Dehaka/Alerak/Fenix cant tank one, much less more Swarms of units are wiped away instantly by manual targeting of laser Maybe mass queens? But they still wont kill it. Only stall it.. and it has 2000 hp. Thors/Viking/Void rays counter it until havoc range comes out, and then they are crushed.

Commanders that confirmed hard counter it: Nova goliaths. Swann goliaths. Alarak slayers. Karax mirages. Dehaka consume+hydras. Zagara scourge. Other commanders are still being tested, and several look promising, but I won't speak on them until they have been tested more.

So let me get this straight. Stucov's Apocalic that cost 1100 minerals and have 1500 hp get buff: instead of melee each upgrade to go +5, it goes +8 (so fully upgraded Apocalic now do 9 more melee damage.) Alurak's Mothership that cost 1100 minerals and have 2000 hp and fly got range damage buffed to 38*6. Now, I know that Stucov have solid Tier 1 and decent Tier 2, but how is it fair? Unlocking Tier 3 to use Apocalic don't seem to be worth it when you could get tanks or infesters instead. Stucov's Tier 3 just seem super weak.

Incursus: Whatever you do, don't rush up to tech level 3 and get 3 gas while not placing any units. If you do it you will die. Also Incursus: Rushes to tech level 3 and places 3 gas before getting any units and then goes on to easily win the game

I love direct strike, however, there are some real douches playing. Last night, for example, I was going tanky because the person before me was 100% stealth dps... so everything was walking right past his wave and into our base. I had a line of infested bunkers and diamondbacks and was halting the opponents AND pushing a bit every wave... both the person spawning before and after me started yelling at me and telling me to use the exploding infantry, and saying that my wave was failing somehow even though my wave was the only tanky one and was the only thing stopping the opponents from walking right up to our base most of the time... I hate people.

Bleh, longtime Forts fan and I have to admit a part of me was disappointed when I saw you playing this game. After watching a couple games tho I can see why you like this game. My knee jerk reaction to hate on this SC is mainly because 1v1 Starcraft gets stale to me but this versions multiplayer aspect with all the different paper-rock-scissors counters looks not only fun to play... but has been fun to watch.
