You cant just go opposite field with any old pitch. If you're a power hitter and the pitcher keeps the pitches tight, you will not hit to the opposite field with any type of swing. Don't forget to add in situational softball tips.

Start a little further away from the plate toward the outer side of the batters box, then if it's an inside pitch, then it's likely a ball, anyway.

How do you get a spin on it, so it goes around the base and rolls into the corner? A guy on my team used to be able to slice it out there, but mine just go straight oppo.

Cut slap the ball.. putting a side spin on the ball. It'll fade nicely.. its a power hit so drink cows milk.

I go line to line, always step the same up the middle. Up the middle and opposite field chest-high swing..

Only problem with that is when I play in the outfield and you set up I’m yelling “oppo, oppo, oppo.” When you step up we shift on your stance.

As for stance, there's no need to yell anything. I have seen many guys whose stances don't match their swing. You might have a batter whose stance is wide open and he shoots the ball to the opposite field. I stopped trying to figure out where a guy's going to hit the ball based on stance years ago. Good batters will always go with the pitch.

Adults don't have competitive high school/college baseball, plus most adults are just playing for a casual experience. So they play softball because it's more relaxed
